[via press release from ABC]

ABC SCARES UP SOME HALLOWEEN TREATS WITH THEMED EPISODES, A CLASSIC "PEANUTS" SPECIAL AND THE NETWORK PREMIERE OF "MONSTERS, INC."

It's treats, not tricks, as the ABC Television Network announces a cauldronful of Halloween programming:

"IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN" -- TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) - This special, created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, returns for a fun-filled encore. In the 1966 half-hour animated special, The PEANUTS gang celebrates Halloween, with Linus hoping that, finally, he will be visited by The Great Pumpkin, while Charlie Brown is invited to a Halloween party. Cast members include Peter Robbins ("Charlie Brown"), and Christopher Shea ("Linus").

GEORGE LOPEZ - "LEAVE IT TO LOPEZ" - TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET) - Feeling guilty about his failure to buy life insurance, George's new obsession with death surfaces in his nightmares of a nostalgic kind as he envisions his family members as "The Munsters," "The Jetsons" and "Leave It to Beaver," on a special Halloween-themed episode.

ACCORDING TO JIM -- "DRESS TO KILL ME" - TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26 (9:00-9:30 p.m., ET) -- Jim worries that Kyle is becoming a sissy when the boy insists on wearing a Cinderella costume for Halloween.

RODNEY -- "HALLOWEEN" - TUESDAY, OCTOBER 26 (9:30-10:00 p.m., ET) -- To celebrate Halloween, Rodney's favorite holiday, he and Barry decide to play a practical joke on police officer Gerald Bob (Jon Reep), but their antics go awry and Rodney ends up at the police station.

8 SIMPLE RULES -- "HALLOWEEN" -- FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET) -- Kerry doubts Bridget's ability to put together the school's Halloween party as part of her Student Body President duties. Meanwhile C.J. is hired as the party's security guard and sets his sights on catching Rory pulling off a prank, and Jim finds himself under attack by the neighborhood kids when he refuses to hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters.

COMPLETE SAVAGES -- "FREE LILY" - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29 (8:30-9:00 p.m., ET) -- It's Halloween, and the Savage boys are trying to figure out what to do for their annual prank. Kyle feels he's too old for trick or treating this year, leaving Nick and T.J. to go it alone. When Chris is forced to dissect a frog in class, he gets the idea - via a spooky visit from the ghost of the late class frog - of just what to do for their prank this year. Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson, guest-stars as Mr. Homer and provides frog voiceover.

HOPE & FAITH -- "FAITH SCARE-FIELD" - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29 (9:00-9:30 p.m., ET) -- Hope and Faith are surprised to receive a Halloween party invite from a crazy neighbor woman (Carol Kane) whom they used to terrorize when they were children. The sisters' Halloween turns out to be truly scary when the woman tries to exact her revenge by trapping them in her house of horrors.

LESS THAN PERFECT -- "KNOCK, KNOCK, WHO'S DEAD?" - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29 (9:30-10:00 p.m., ET) -- Ramona and Claude stumble upon an aged co-worker who has passed on to the next world, and when no one claims his belongings, Claude resolves to find his next of kin. Ramona, for her part, seizes the opportunity to move into the former colleague's office after finding out that Lydia wants to store her wedding materials in it. But a spirit seems to haunt the office, frightening Ramona and Owen and climaxing with supernatural events on Halloween Night. Meanwhile Carl, decked out as a Musketeer, flirts with a cafeteria patron dressed as a genie... will they reveal their true selves? And will Lydia and Jeb really go to the company Halloween party as Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt? Find out when the GNB staff celebrates Halloween in elaborate costumes.

"MONSTERS, INC." - THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY - NETWORK TELEVISION PREMIERE -- SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) -- Featuring the voices of John Goodman, Billy Crystal, Steve Buscemi, James Coburn and Jennifer Tilly, "Monsters, Inc." tells the story of the world behind our closet doors, where onsters like Mike and Sulley work hard for their income. To be precise, they work in the factory, Monsters, Inc., that collects the screams of children and turns them into energy that powers their city, Monstropolis. However, it's getting harder and harder to shock kids, forcing the monsters to face a serious energy shortage. Ironically, while they are provoking screams of terror from youngsters, the monsters themselves adamantly believe human children are toxic and that direct contact would be catastrophic, so when a little girl named Boo slips through her closet door into Monstropolis, pandemonium erupts! In HDTV with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio.

BOSTON LEGAL - "AN EYE FOR AN EYE" - SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) -- Lori and Sally take on a criminal case defending a man, Jason Binder, who is accused of killing another man at a bar with a martial arts-type punch to the throat, and whose only character witness is his mother, who doesn't make the best of impressions because of her glass eye...which tends to fall out when she gets excited. Meanwhile, Shore and Tara, the sexual tension between them growing, take the case of a hypochondriac, Bill Morgan, who is suing his doctor for malpractice, and the partners are concerned when Crane takes over one of Edwin Poole's cases, especially considering Crane is not at all prepared to try the case - which is taking place the following day - and is flat out denied a continuance by a spiteful judge. Halloween-themed episode.
