JULIE ELIMINATED FROM UPN'S "AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL"

Julie, a student from Kent, Wash., has been eliminated from the third cycle of UPN's dramality series AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, reducing the pool from 12 girls to 11.

During last night's episode, hair was cut and tears were shed as the young women underwent dramatic makeovers. Two girls were given special treatment to ease their insecurities. Norelle was invited to visit one of the world's top orthodontists and was able to have her braces removed, while Ya Ya underwent special skin care treatments with a leading dermatologist.

Cover Girl Kiara Kabakuru made a special appearance and the ladies were given 10 minutes to doll themselves up for an industry party while in a moving limousine. When they arrived at their destination, the girls were judged on how well they put into practice Jay Manuel's make-up tips from earlier in the day and Norelle was chosen as the winner. She and three others of her choice (Eva, Kristi and Ann) were invited to attend the party as guests and were dressed in designer gowns by Anand Jon, while the other girls were asked to wear tuxedos and work the party as servers.

The next day, the girls faced the camera for close-up singles without any make-up. Cassie made the mistake of confiding in Amanda about her unhealthy eating habits and Amanda shared that information with the other models. The conversation at the photo shoot buzzed with talk about Cassie's possible battle with bulimia. Later that evening, Cassie confronted the girls about her disorder saying, "I don't consider myself bulimic because I don't throw up after every meal. I can't even remember the last time I threw up."

During the next evening's elimination ceremony, the girls were asked to make up their faces according to the tips they had learned throughout the week. The judges then reviewed the girls' "natural" photos and evaluated their make-up application. Finally, due to Julie's "stiffness" in front of the camera and her lack of desire to become a model, she was eliminated from the competition. "I was extremely turned off when she [Julie] said she was using the modeling industry to get somewhere else," Tyra commented to the other judges.

This season, Tyra Banks once again leads the panel that will narrow the field of girls each week, as they take them into a high-pressure, high-stakes series of competitions that will determine the series winner. The world's first supermodel Janice Dickinson, renowned photographer Nigel Barker and Nol Marin, an acclaimed fashion editor and stylist, also serve as judges. This week the judging panel welcomed top hair stylist, Danilo.

The third installment of UPN's hit dramality series AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL follows 14 young women as they attempt to prove they have what it takes to make it in the high-stress, high-stakes world of modeling. Banks, who created the show, also serves as executive producer along with Ken Mok ("Making the Band"). Anthony Dominici ("The Amazing Race") serves as co-executive producer.

The winner of UPN's AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL will have the opportunity to be managed by Ford Models. She will also receive a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant Cover Girl. Finally, the winner will appear in a fashion spread in Elle magazine.

AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL airs Wednesday, (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN. For more information about AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, log on to www.upn.com.
