DEBORAH BARAK PROMOTED TO EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, BUSINESS AFFAIRS, CBS PARAMOUNT NETWORK TELEVISION ENTERTAINMENT GROUP
Deborah Barak has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Business Affairs, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group, it was announced by Nancy Tellem, President, CBS Paramount Network Television Entertainment Group, to whom she will report.
In her new position, Barak will oversee business affairs for both CBS Entertainment and Paramount Network Television, under the direction of division presidents Nina Tassler and David Stapf, respectively. She will supervise all business matters, including the negotiation of talent, producer deals, license fees and other agreements on behalf of both divisions.
Barak had been Senior Vice President, Business Affairs, CBS Entertainment since February 2002. Prior to that, she had been Senior Vice President, Business Planning and Special Projects, playing a key role in the negotiation of new media deals and co-production agreements.
While at CBS, Barak has handled some of the Network's highest profile negotiations, including the license fee renewal and cast renegotiations for "Everybody Loves Raymond," as well as the "CSI" cast and producer contract negotiations. She also structured the original "Survivor" cast contract, which has become the template for reality television agreements.

From 1997-2000, Barak served as Vice President, Associate General Counsel. She was appointed Deputy West Coast Counsel, supervising CBS�s in-house productions in 1991. She joined CBS in 1985 as Broadcast Counsel in the Network�s West Coast law department.
Prior to joining CBS, Barak was an associate at O�Melveny & Myers.
Barak is a graduate of UCLA and received her law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
