UPN Uses 'Bad Girl's Guide' for Midseason
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- UPN will use "The Bad Girl's Guide" come midseason, as the netlet has given the project a 12-episode order in addition to its pilot.

Jenny McCarthy, most recently seen on UPN's "One on One," and Sophina Brown ("Chappelle's Show") star in the comedy, about the personal and professional lives of five central characters, including three women who run a web site devoted to the dishing out the lifestyle advice of Cameron Tuttle's book series of the same name.

Jennifer Heath and Michelle Wolff ("Tiny Boyfriend") created and will executive produce the project, which comes from Flame Television and Paramount Network Television, alongside Tony Krantz ("24").

Here's UPN's press release detailing the announcement:

UPN ORDERS NEW COMEDY BAD GIRL'S GUIDE STARRING JENNY MCCARTHY FOR MID-SEASON

UPN has ordered a new mid-season comedy, THE BAD GIRL'S GUIDE, starring Jenny McCarthy and based on Cameron Tuttle's best-selling Bad Girl's Guide book series, it was announced today by Dawn Ostroff, President, Entertainment, UPN.

Bad Girl Tip #1 -- A bad girlfriend talks about the size of your butt at work; a bad girl friend covers your butt at work. This is just one of the ideals that UPN's group of sexy, self-assured, single women living in San Francisco attempts to embody as modern bad girls whose free-spirited attitude enables them to live according to their own rules and make no excuses for them.

Led by the charming and self-confident bad girl Annie (Jenny McCarthy), UPN's bad girls want what all women want in their lives -- that perfect balance of love, career and friendships. But, they want it on their own terms. By embracing the bad girl ideals, the girls use their wits, determination and charm to deal with any kind of situation that comes their way.

BAD GIRL'S GUIDE is produced by Paramount Network Television in association with Flame Television. Tony Krantz, Jennifer Heath & Michele J. Wolff are executive producers. Jennifer Heath & Michele J. Wolff and Cameron Tuttle wrote the pilot.
