Last Call for Comedy Central's 'Man Show'

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The Juggy Girl era at Comedy Central is over, as the cable channel announced this week it has pulled the plug on "The Man Show" after five seasons.
The series, which was once one of the network's most-watched programs, opened in 1999 to the tune of 2.5 million viewers but has since fizzled to just 618,000 viewers for its most recent airing this past Sunday.
Originally hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Corolla, "Fear Factor's" Joe Rogan and standup comedian Doug Stanhope took over for its fifth season. Despite the switch, the new "Man Show" initially outperformed Kimmel and Corolla's final season, drawing 1.7 million viewers for its fifth season launch last August.
Nevertheless, said numbers have since dropped significantly, leading the cable channel to pull the plug on the series. Viewers can catch the show's final three episodes over the next few weeks.
Repeats of the show's five-year, 121-episode run will continue to air for the foreseeable future on Comedy Central.
Mark L. Keizer ("Dog Eat Dog") and Tom Gianas ("Saturday Night Live") are the executive producers of "The Man Show," which comes from Stone Stanley Entertainment.
