Here are the highlights, night by night, for this May Sweeps on FOX:

FOX revs up May Sweeps on Sunday nights with all-new episodes and season finales of favorite FOX comedies KING OF THE HILL, THE SIMPSONS and MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE, plus the landmark 150th episode of THAT '70s SHOW.

Arlen, Texas, is the place to be as KING OF THE HILL puts out the welcome mat for another all-star round of guest voices, including the late John Ritter, Oscar nominee Johnny Depp and music legend Tom Petty.

On Sunday, May 2 (7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT), when Bobby joins the Quiz Bowl Team, his knowledge of pop culture takes the team to the championships. But with the pressure of competition looming over him, Bobby begins to buckle under the stress on the "Stressed for Success" episode, which boasts the vocal talents of Kelly Clarkson, Ben Stein and the late John Ritter.

The following week (Sunday, May 9, 7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT), when Hank suffers a back injury at work and none of his doctors can fix it, he tries the healing powers of yoga. At first, he finds it a little too wacky, but thanks to the help of Yogi Victor (Johnny Depp), he realizes that it actually works. Marg Helgenberger also drops in for the Zen-like "Hank's Back" episode of KING OF THE HILL.

Kahn has a redneck conversion when Connie is rejected from Rice summer school on "The Redneck on Rainey Street" episode (Sunday, May 16, 7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT). Since good grades and community service aren't enough to get her into the university, Kahn decides to give up his middle class ways to live like a beer-drinking, El Camino-driving, ATV-riding redneck. Guest voices Tom Petty, Elizabeth Perkins and Trace Adkins help Kahn and his family embrace their new lifestyle.

And on the season finale of KING OF THE HILL (Sunday, May 23, 7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT), Bobby gets a lesson in Love 101 from special guest stars Alyson Hannigan and Laura Prepon. Forced to decide between enrolling in shop class where he'll work with guys and sharp objects, or joining the peer counseling class where he'll talk lonely young girls through their problems, Bobby goes where the ladies are. But after a few days of giving advice to these crazy girls, Bobby is the one who needs counseling.

Future-classic episodes of THE SIMPSONS burst out of the starting block this month, when Homer masquerades as the vigilante Pie Man, Bart moons the American flag and Lisa becomes a publishing magnate.

On Sunday, May 2 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), Homer fights crime all pie himself in the form of his crime-fighting alter ego, the Pie Man. But when Mr. Burns unmasks him and exposes his secret identity, Homer is blackmailed into tossing a pie at of all people the Dalai Lama.

The following Sunday, May 9 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), Homer reveals that Marge wasn't the first girl he ever kissed on "The Way We Weren't" episode. As he and Marge recount their own versions of their time spent at summer camp, Homer realizes he has caused Marge 30 years of heartache. But they discover something from their past that proves their love was destined. And on Sunday, May 16 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), the Simpsons are thrown in prison after Bart accidentally moons the American flag.

Lisa and Mr. Burns go head-to-head well, maybe toe-to-toe on the season finale of THE SIMPSONS (Sunday, May 23, 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). Mr. Burns buys up all the media outlets in Springfield in an effort to polish his image, but soon finds himself at odds with Lisa, who starts publishing her own newspaper.

MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE puts viewers in the driver's seat this May, with a Sunday of back-to-back all-new episodes, an installment reuniting former "Mary Tyler Moore" co-stars Betty White and Cloris Leachman and a two-part, two-night season finale.

On the first of two episodes on Sunday, May 2 (9:009:30 PM ET/PT), Malcolm convinces Dewey to do poorly on an I.Q. test, so that he won't become a ridiculed Krelboyne student. But Dewey does so badly that he is placed in a class for the emotionally disturbed. In the episode that immediately follows, baseball legend and Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson, guest-starring as himself, must resolve a dispute between Malcolm and Dewey at a baseball card convention.

The Sunday, May 9 (9:009:30 PM ET/PT) episode features two world-class comediennes who reunite on-screen for the first time since their days as "Mary Tyler Moore" co-stars -- Betty White and Cloris Leachman. When Lois tracks down her father's "other family," she meets Victor's "other wife" Sylvia (White), and learns something shocking about her dad.

The first part of the season finale of MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE, "Reese Joins the Army Part 1" (Sunday, May 16, 9:009:30 PM ET/PT), skids out of control, as Reese joins the Army, Hal is accused of insider trading and Lois falls into a catatonic state and loses her job. In the second half of the season finale, airing the following week (Sunday, May 23, 8:309:00 PM ET/PT), it's Malcolm to the rescue. He defends his father in court and snaps Lois out of her catatonia, but wait where's Reese?

On a special night and a special time (Sunday, May 16, 8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT), THAT '70s SHOW celebrates a milestone its 150th episode. Luke Wilson returns as Donna's old boyfriend and Kelso's brother, Casey. When Donna and the girls hit the all-male strip club for Donna's bachelorette party, they're in for a shock it turns out that Casey has been moonlighting as a dancer.

FOX Monday during May Sweeps is hot on the trail of those with the drive to be more, with an all-new AMERICAN IDOL special, AMERICAN IDOL: THE FINAL FIVE 2004, and six hours of THE SWAN, where average-looking women are transformed into drop-dead-gorgeous beauties.

As the competition amps up on AMERICAN IDOL, FOX offers voracious viewers an all-new special. On Monday, May 3 at 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT, AMERICAN IDOL: THE FINAL FIVE 2004 profiles the five remaining finalists, taking IDOL fans back to the beginning of the season and highlighting what has happened to-date. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest from the AMERICAN IDOL studio, the special features exclusive interviews with the Top 5 and new performances of their favorite songs of the series.

During THE SWAN's first three Mondays in May (Monday, May 3, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT; Monday, May 10, 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT; and Monday, May 17, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), eight more women are transformed from "ugly ducklings" to "swans" through cosmetic surgery and an intensive "boot camp" of exercise, diet, therapy and inspiration. In each episode's final moments, the contestants, who have not been permitted to see themselves in a mirror during the three-month transformation process, experience the ultimate reveal. Not only do they find out who has been selected to move on to the Swan Pageant and who will go home to her family, but they see themselves anew for the first time. The series will culminate in the selection of "The Swan" in a dazzling, suspense-filled pageant on the two-hour season finale on Monday, May 24 at 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT.

This May, AMERICAN IDOL will leave the competition in the dust. On Tuesday, May 4 (8:00-9:00 PM Live ET/tape-delayed PT), the remaining five finalists will perform LIVE before a studio audience. Each subsequent Tuesday (May 11 and 18 8:00-9:00 PM Live ET/tape-delayed PT) will see one fewer contestant. When only two remain, they will battle it out LIVE from the renowned Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, CA, on Tuesday, May 25 (8:00-9:00 PM live ET/tape-delayed PT). All month, the contestants will sing their hearts out in hopes of winning America's vote. Some will impress the judges, some will buckle under pressure, but only one will be the next AMERICAN IDOL.

Following AMERICAN IDOL, FOX buries the needle with four all-new episodes of 24, racing to its breakneck-paced season finale.

First up, Jack and Chase make their move to grab Saunders, while Tony is forced to choose between his duty and protecting his wife. Meanwhile, President Palmer deals with Senator Keeler's plan to go on the offensive on the "9:00 AM - 10:00 AM" episode of 24 (Tuesday, May 4, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

The next week, on the "10:00 AM-11 AM" episode (Tuesday, May 11, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), Jack uses Saunders' daughter as leverage in an effort to prevent more of the virus from being released, and with Michelle's life in danger, Tony decides to take matters into his own hands.

24 pushes into ultra-high gear when Jack discovers that the remaining 11 vials containing the virus are to be released within the hour. Meanwhile, Sherry makes a play to be Mrs. David Palmer once again on the "11:00 AM 12:00 PM" episode (Tuesday, May 18, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

On the heart-racing season finale (Tuesday, May 25, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the 24th hour of one non-stop day, Jack is faced with a horrible dilemma as he and Chase chase down the virus, and Tony could face the death penalty for failing to maintain national security.

FOX puts the pedal to the metal on Wednesday nights this May, with four all-new episodes of THAT '70s SHOW, plus a helping of hysterical bloopers and outtakes; the season finale of THE O.C.; and LIVE results shows from AMERICAN IDOL. Capping it all off is the two-hour season finale of AMERICAN IDOL, airing on the last night of May Sweeps.

THAT '70s SHOW cruises to a hilarious season finale, as Eric and Donna prepare for their wedding and life together. Rachel Bilson (THE O.C.) and Seth Green guest-star on the "5:15" episode (Wednesday, May 5, 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). Donna goes with Mitch (Green) to his brother's wedding and ends up being publicly humiliated, while Fez pretends to be rich to woo a country club snob, Christy (Bilson).

On Wednesday, May 12 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), Eric and Donna decide to break their vow of celibacy and then start to believe that they've been plagued with bad luck. Things begin to spiral out of control after Eric sneaks a peek at Donna's wedding dress and accidentally rips it. Following the expanded "Sparks" episode, which also features 10 minutes of hilarious bloopers and outtakes from seasons past, is a 10-minute exclusive sneak preview of the 20th Century Fox motion picture "The Day After Tomorrow," which opens Memorial Day weekend (Wednesday, May 12, 8:44-8:54 PM ET/PT).

Morgan Fairchild, Brooke Shields, Tanya Roberts and Shannon Elizabeth guest- star on the one-hour season finale (Wednesday, May 19, 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). Kelso isn't afraid of fatherhood -- until he meets Carolyn (Fairchild), Brooke's (Elizabeth) mother! And, when Eric has second thoughts about marrying Donna, he skips town to sort things out. Donna's mother (Roberts) comes back to Point Place to console her and ends up in a love triangle with Bob and Pamela (Shields). When Eric returns to the face the music, will Donna listen?

THE O.C. closes its smash-hit debut season with the season finale (Wednesday, May 5, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), when all of Newport Beach turns out for the social engagement of the year: the wedding of Caleb Nichol and Julie Cooper. ATO recording artist Jem, who recently released her critically acclaimed debut album "Finally Woken," will perform Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" during the ceremony. But the wedding is only the tip of the iceberg. Sparks fly, emotions run high and lives are forever changed on the cliffhanger season finale. After all, nothing is as it seems in THE O.C.

The most anticipated night of the television season is almost here, and what a season it has been for AMERICAN IDOL. The third season has surpassed last year's ratings, averaging 26 million viewers each week. On Wednesday, May 12 (8:54-10:00 PM live ET/tape-delayed PT) and Wednesday, May 19 (9:00-10:00 PM live ET/tape-delayed PT), the LIVE results editions count down to the final two contestants. On Wednesday, May 26 (8:00-10:00 PM live ET/tape-delayed PT), before thousands of fans and millions of television viewers, the newest AMERICAN IDOL will be crowned.

Kicking off Thursdays is the two-hour season-finale movie on TRU CALLING (Thursday, April 29, 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). In the first hour, Tru and Davis remain stunned by the revelation that Jack can relive days like Tru. Excited to have a new partner, Tru teams up with him to ensure a doctor's dying wish, but as the day progresses, Tru becomes increasingly suspicious of his intentions. And when Jack attempts to stop Tru from saving an innocent victim, she comes to the startling realization that he isn't her ally but her enemy. For the high-stakes second hour, Tru and Jack who is now her sworn nemesis find themselves on a collision course when the body of Tru's brother, Harrison, asks for help. Jack vows to ensure Harrison's death when the day rewinds, while Tru struggles to protect her brother. The game is on as an epic battle of life and death is set in motion.

The following two Thursdays, May 6 and 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), FOX presents two-hour encore special editions of COPS. On COPS: CRIMES OF PASSION SPECIAL EDITION, 15 heart-wrenching segments feature officers from the Virginia Beach, Fort Worth and Albuquerque police departments responding to domestic violence calls. The next week, the 15 greatest COPS arrests are highlighted on the two-hour COPS: RED-HANDED: THE FIFTEEN GREATEST TAKEDOWNS.

On Thursday, May 20 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), FOX serves up the World Broadcast Premiere of AMERICAN PIE 2. The cast of "American Pie" returns a year later, as the gang are finishing their first year of college and decide to rent a summer house together. Everyone's back, including Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Shannon Elizabeth, Chris Klein, Natasha Lyonne, Tara Reid, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy.

FOX Friday hits the gas for four World Broadcast Premiere movies this May. The first is LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER (Friday, April 30, 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), starring Angelina Jolie as the brilliant and daring Lara Croft, born into wealth and privilege, but more interested in pursuing her long-lost father's career of hunting for antiquities. This time, she's on the trail of an artifact bearing a magical triangle with an all-seeing eye, just in time for the rare planetary alignment that will activate its mysterious powers. But she's not the only one looking for the relic, and if it falls into the wrong hands, it could spell disaster for the planet.

Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Tony Shalhoub, Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara star in the World Broadcast Premiere of SPY KIDS, airing on Friday, May 7 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Carmen and Juni are pretty typical kids with typically boring parents who just happen to lead secret lives as super-spies. So far, the children have been protected from any knowledge of their parents' dangerous exploits, but that's about to change when they must go through a crash course in intrigue, gadgetry and espionage, and set off to save their parents' lives!

Next is the World Broadcast Premiere of LITTLE NICKY (Friday, May 14, 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). The underworld has never been as funny as it is when Adam Sandler stars as the son of the devil! After reigning over Hell for 10,000 years, Satan must decide who is going to succeed him one of his more powerful sons, or the one he has a soft spot for, little Nicky, who, despite his love of heavy metal music, can't quite get the hang of being evil.

FOX gets a dye job for the World Broadcast Premiere of LEGALLY BLONDE (Friday, May 21, 8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Reese Witherspoon is Elle Woods, a straight-A fashion major and Hawaiian Tropic girl who seems to epitomize everything blonde, pink and lightweight. But when her snooty boyfriend heads off to Harvard Law school, she decides to follow him and prove that she can succeed at whatever she puts her mind to. The ivory tower doesn't know what hit it when Elle and her fashionably attired Chihuahua, Bruiser, take Harvard by storm!

Rounding the bend at full-speed are May Sweeps Saturdays on FOX, with four weeks of all-new episodes of COPS, AMERICA'S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK and MADtv.

Saturday, May 1 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) starts off with an all-new COPS: GUNS DRAWN #2 SPECIAL EDITION. The following week (Saturday, May 8, 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT and 8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT), suspects, including a man who takes off on foot and causes a chase that ends with a K-9 unit, refuse to cooperate with authorities in back-to-back COPS: RESISTING ARREST episodes. The Big Easy is next, as COPS heads down South to Bourbon Street. The New Orleans Police Department keeps the chaotic crowds of Mardi Gras 2004 under control in all-new, back-to-back COPS: MARDI GRAS episodes (Saturday, May 15, 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT and 8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT). On the final Saturday of Sweeps (Saturday, May 22, 8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT and 8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT), wild woman behavior is featured in back-to-back COPS: BAD GIRLS SPECIAL EDITION episodes.

AMERICA'S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK takes on the nation's hottest crime issues this May Sweeps with original, all-new episodes. The crime-fighting program presents the "Caught on Tape Special Edition" on Saturday, May 1 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). The next week (Saturday, May 8, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), host John Walsh rides along with U.S. Marshals in Chicago on the "Mean Streets Special Edition." In honor of National Police Week, the crime-fighter highlights fallen police officers and goes after the criminals who take aim at these hero cops on the "In the Line of Duty Special Edition" on Saturday, May 15 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). AMERICA'S MOST WANTED: AMERICA FIGHTS BACK flies down the final stretch with another all-new special edition, "Bad Girls #5 Special Edition" on Saturday, May 22 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

MADtv, recently picked up for three more seasons, goes full-throttle this month with special guests and spot-on parodies. FOX's biggest stars come together when THE O.C.'s Ryan Atwood (guest star Benjamin McKenzie) introduces his tough Chino crowd consisting of "Clay Aiken" (Ron Pederson), "Justin Guarini" (Jordan Peele) and "William Hung" (Bobby Lee) to Seth Cohen (guest star Adam Brody) and Summer Roberts (guest star Rachel Bilson). When Seth learns that Summer might have kissed Clay, an O.C.-style stare-down ensues on an all-new MADtv on Saturday, May 1 (11:00 PM-MIDNIGHT ET/PT).

The next week (Saturday, May 8, 11:00 PM-MIDNIGHT ET/PT), Frankie Muniz (MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE) and Jennifer Coolidge guest-star. Hot Hollywood couples test their knowledge when Tom Bergeron makes a guest appearance to host a special edition of "Hollywood Squares" on another all-new installment of MADtv on Saturday, May 15 (11:00 PM-MIDNIGHT ET/PT). And, on the season finale (Saturday, May 22, 11:00 PM-MIDNIGHT ET/PT), Fred Willard and David Alan Grier sit down for a chat about the F.C.C. when they make a guest appearance on "Real MoFo Talk."
