CBS ANNOUNCES MID-SEASON SERIES PREMIERE DATES

Futuristic Legal Drama "Century City" Premieres Tuesday, March 16, 9:00-10:00 PM

"The Stones," A Comedy About Two Adult Children Living With Their Divorcing Parents, Debuts Wednesday, March 17, 9:30-10:00 PM

CBS announced premiere dates for its two mid-season series -- the drama CENTURY CITY and comedy THE STONES.

CENTURY CITY, a provocative legal drama set in the year 2030, will premiere on Tuesday, March 16 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Nestor Carbonell, Viola Davis, Emmy Award-winner Hector Elizondo, Ioan Gruffudd, Kristin Lehman and Eric Schaeffer star in this futuristic drama where lawyers at the firm of Crane, Constable, McNeil and Montero find that the laws change but that people remain the same.

In a time when judges can go before lawyers as holograms, the firm takes on such morally and ethically ambiguous cases as parents suing their doctor for withholding critical results of their unborn childs genetic mapping, and a man accused of robbery when he steals back his identity from his ex-fianc who has uploaded his presence onto all of her electronics. As this diverse group of attorneys find themselves in uncharted legal territory, their cases provide an eye-opening look into issues confronting society in the not-so-distant future.

CENTURY CITY is produced by Heel and Toe Films in association with Universal Network Television. Paul Attanasio, Katie Jacobs and Ed Zuckerman are executive producers.

Regular time period occupant THE GUARDIAN will return on Tuesday, April 27.

THE STONES, a comedy about the crazy reality of two adult children living in their childhood home with their divorcing-but-friendly parents, premieres Wednesday, March 17 (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT).

Judith Light, Robert Klein, Lindsay Sloane and Jay Baruchel star.

Brainy scientist Winston Stone (Baruchel) is thrown for a loop when he and his hip, funky sister, Karly (Sloane), meet their parents, Barbara (Light) and Stan (Klein), to celebrate their anniversary, but instead are informed that they are getting an amicable divorce after 25 years of marriage. Stan and Barbara still love each other, but theyve stopped liking themselves as a couple. Love-struck geneticist Winston and freelance photographer Karly must now cope with their newly independent, revitalized parents on a daily basis as they try to live under one roof. The Stones may nag, tease, annoy and antagonize one another, but they always do it with love.

THE STONES is produced by Komut Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television. David Kohan, Max Mutchnick and Jenji Kohan are executive producers.

"THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS" ON CBS THROUGH THE YEAR 2008

CBS, Which Has Broadcast "The Kennedy Center Honors: A Celebration Of The Performing Arts" Since It Premiered In 1978, Announces A New Five-Year Agreement

CBS has signed a new five-year agreement to broadcast THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS: A CELEBRATION OF THE PERFORMING ARTS through the year 2008. The Network has broadcast this annual national celebration of the arts from the Opera House of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., each year since its premiere in 1978.

"Like the artists honored each year, The Kennedy Center Honors make its own unique and valuable contribution to the arts -- its truly one of the classiest and most entertaining awards shows on the air," said Leslie Moonves, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, CBS. "CBS has been affiliated with this program since Day One and Im proud to continue our relationship with George Stevens Jr., Michael Kaiser and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts."

"Our collaboration with CBS has now passed the quarter-century mark," said Producer George Stevens. "Leslie Moonves encourages us year in and year out to reach for excellence, and we look forward to doing just that for the next five years."

"CBS's long-standing involvement with The Kennedy Center Honors has provided remarkable support for the Kennedy Center and for the arts and artists in America," said Michael M. Kaiser, President, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. "By placing a spotlight on the greatest artists working in America, The Kennedy Center Honors reminds us of mankind's great potential; by televising the Honors, CBS gives all Americans an opportunity to be inspired, educated and entertained."

Each year, the Kennedy Center Honors recipients are recognized for their lifetime contributions to American culture through the performing arts -- whether in dance, music, theater, opera, motion pictures or television. The primary criterion in the selection process is excellence. During the broadcast, prominent friends and peers of the recipients present them with festive and moving tributes. The honorees watch the entertaining homages from their balcony seats -- along with other invited national dignitaries, including the current President of the United States. Tradition dictates that the roster of presenters and performers is kept secret prior to the gala, and a short, biographical film is presented during each honoree's tribute. The annual Honors Gala has become a highlight of the Washington cultural year. Distinguished artists and renowned politicians alike gather to attend this celebratory black-tie affair.

Past honorees, in chronological order, include legends such as Fred Astaire, Ella Fitzgerald, Tennessee Williams, James Cagney, Leonard Bernstein, Cary Grant, Jerome Robbins, George Abbott, Benny Goodman, Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, James Stewart, Lena Horne, Arthur Miller, Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Ray Charles, Hume Cronyn, Jessica Tandy, Bette Davis, Sammy Davis Jr., Alvin Ailey, George Burns, Dizzy Gillespie, Katharine Hepburn, Billy Wilder, Gregory Peck, Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Ginger Rogers, Johnny Carson, Stephen Sondheim, Kirk Douglas, Aretha Franklin, Sidney Poitier, Neil Simon, Edward Albee, Johnny Cash, Jack Lemmon, Lauren Bacall, Bob Dylan, Charlton Heston, Bill Cosby, Willie Nelson, Sean Connery, Stevie Wonder, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Chuck Berry, Placido Domingo, Clint Eastwood, Angela Lansbury, Julie Andrews, Quincy Jones, Jack Nicholson, Luciano Pavarotti, James Earl Jones, Chita Rivera, Paul Simon, Elizabeth Taylor and, this past year, James Brown, Carol Burnett, Loretta Lynn, Mike Nichols and Itzhak Perlman.

The Kennedy Center Honors Gala is a fund-raising benefit for the Kennedy Center to support its performing arts, education and public service programming, and its comprehensive outreach effort, Performing Arts for Everyone, which makes the Center's presentations accessible to all.

THE 2003 KENNEDY CENTER HONORS, which was broadcast last month, won its time period in households (7.0/13) and viewers (11.19m) and was the most watched KENNEDY CENTER HONORS since 1998. Compared to the prior year's broadcast, THE 2003 KENNEDY CENTER HONORS was up +56% in viewers, +37% in households, +73% in adults 18-49 and +53% in adults 25-54.

THE KENNEDY CENTER HONORS: A CELEBRATION OF THE PERFORMING ARTS is a production of the Kennedy Center. George Stevens Jr., who created the Honors in 1978 with Nick Vanoff, produces and co-writes the special, which has been honored with five Emmy Awards for Outstanding Program as well as the Peabody Award for Outstanding Contribution to Television.

EMMY AWARD-WINNER WILLIAM H. MACY, EMMY AWARD-WINNER TOM SELLECK, MONICA POTTER, FELICITY HUFFMAN AND SHEMAR MOORE STAR IN "SCOTT TUROWS REVERSIBLE ERRORS," A NEW FOUR-HOUR MINI-SERIES TO BE BROADCAST MAY 23 AND MAY 25 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

This Legal Drama Is Based on the Best-Selling Novel by Scott Turow

SCOTT TUROWS REVERSIBLE ERRORS, a new four-hour mini-series, based on Turows best-selling novel and starring Emmy Award-winner William H. Macy ("Door to Door"), Emmy Award-winner Tom Selleck ("Magnum, P.I."), Monica Potter ("Without Limits"), Felicity Huffman ("Sports Night") and Shemar Moore ("The Young and the Restless"), will be broadcast Sunday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 25 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT; both nights) on the CBS Television Network. This suspense drama follows a corporate lawyer whose world is turned upside-down when he is assigned to draft the final appeal of a potentially innocent inmate nearing his execution date.

Successful corporate lawyer Arthur Raven (Macy) is not happy about having to draft a pro-bono final appeal for the seamy Rommy "Squirrel" Gandolph (Glenn Plummer), who is facing the death penalty after having confessed to a high profile triple homicide seven years prior -- but who now professes his innocence. However, Arthurs outlook soon changes after he tracks down the icy Gillian Sullivan (Huffman), the disgraced former judge who had presided over Squirrels case, but who was then sentenced to time in prison herself. To Arthurs surprise, the recently paroled Gillian produces a letter she just received from a man admitting to the crime. Arthur soon finds himself fixated on delving into the details of the original case and unraveling the twisted threads of the horrific crime that may or may not prove his clients innocence. He does this with the reluctant help from the ever frosty, yet emotionally raw Gillian, for whom Arthur had once harbored a secret attraction.

Meanwhile, Muriel Wynn (Potter), an ambitious lawyer currently running for district attorney and who made a name for herself by prosecuting Squirrels case, and her former lover, Larry Starczek (Selleck), the original detective on the case who remains sexually attracted to the now-married Muriel, team up once again to defend Squirrels guilty verdict.

Moore plays Collins Farwell, a cocky drug dealer who was imprisoned shortly after the triple murders. He attempted to cut a deal for himself by revealing information about the case to Larry and Muriel that ultimately led them to locate and arrest Squirrel.

The final appeal forces Arthur, Gillian, Muriel and Larry to dredge up facts about the initial case and to face some difficult memories regarding their lives during the time of Squirrels conviction seven years prior. As they continue their investigations, what appears to be an open and shut case is in fact only the beginning -- and justice, careers, reputations, and a life, rests on the outcome.

William H. Macy, a two-time Emmy Award-winner for "Door to Door," was also nominated for Emmy Awards for guest appearances in the series "Sports Night" and "ER." He is currently nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his role in the feature film "Seabiscuit." He won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award for his starring role as Thomas Magnum on the hit CBS series "Magnum, P.I." His other television credits include a recurring role on the series "Friends," for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination, and the television movies "Monte Walsh," "Louis LAmours Crossfire Trail," "Running Mates," "Broken Trust," "Ruby Jean and Joe" and "Last Stand at Saber River." Her feature film credits include "Magnolia," "Arlington Road," "The Spanish Prisoner," "Eerie" and "Reversal of Fortune."

Shemar Moore was a series regular on the Network daytime drama "The Young and the Restless." His other television credits include the series "Chicago Hope" and "The Nanny," also on the Network and the series "Moesha," "Arli$$," "The Jamie Foxx Show" and "Living Single." His feature film credits include "Greener," "The Brothers," Box Marley," "Butter" and "Hav Plenty."

Scott Turow is an attorney and author of the best-selling books Presumed Innocent and The Burden of Proof. He is a partner in the Chicago office of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, a national law firm where his practice centers on white collar criminal litigation. He also devotes a substantial part of his practice to pro bono work, including representations of cases involving the death penalty. In one of those matters, a co-defendant was exonerated after 11 years in prison.

SCOTT TUROWS REVERSIBLE ERRORS was produced by von Zerneck/Sertner Films. Frank von Zerneck and Robert M. Sertner ("The Elizabeth Smart Story," "Tempted," "Heart of a Stranger") are the executive producers. Mike Robe ("Shake, Rattle and Roll") is director/producer. The script, based on Turows novel, was written by Alan Sharp ("Rob Roy").

"HELTER SKELTER," A NEW THREE-HOUR TELEVISION MOVIE BASED ON THE NUMBER ONE TRUE CRIME BESTSELLER OF ALL TIME WRITTEN BY ATTORNEY VINCENT BUGLIOSI, TO BE BROADCAST SUNDAY, MAY 16 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

Second Adaptation Focuses On Who Serial Killer Charles Manson Was, Why He Wanted the Murders to Happen and How He Persuaded People To Kill For Him

Mansons Prosecuting Attorney, Vincent Bugliosi, Serves as Executive Producer

Jeremy Davies ("Saving Private Ryan"), Bruno Kirby ("American Tragedy"), Clea DuVall ("Carnivale"), Marguerite Moreau ("Runaway Jury") and Allison Smith ("Kate & Allie") Also Star

HELTER SKELTER, a new three-hour television movie based on the true story of the August 1969 Tate/LaBianca murders, as chronicled in the bestselling book Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi, will be broadcast as the "CBS Sunday Movie," Sunday, May 16 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network. Jeremy Davies ("Saving Private Ryan") stars as Charles Manson, Bruno Kirby ("American Tragedy") as prosecuting attorney Vincent Bugliosi, and Clea DuVall ("Carnival") as Linda Kasabian, Allison Smith ("Kate & Allie") as Patricia "Katie" Krenwinkle, and Margeurite Moreau ("Runaway Jury") as Susan "Sadie" Atkins, all members of the Manson Family.

In 1976, CBS broadcast the mini-series "Helter Skelter," which averaged a 36.4 rating/54 share over its two nights and is the highest rated two-part made for television movie ever. Based on the bestselling book by Vincent Bugliosi, the movie chronicled the grisly Tate/LaBianca murders focusing on the investigation of the gruesome slayings and the trial of Charles Manson. This new adaptation, also based on the book, will instead focus on who Manson was, why he did what he did and how this morally corrupt ex-con was able to persuade the members of his Family to commit such horrifying acts.

It was almost 35 years ago, late in the summer of 1969, that Mansons followers, at his instruction, brutally massacred seven people over two consecutive nights in Los Angeles and scrawled bloody messages on the walls of the crime scenes. The first night, director Roman Polanskis wife, eight-month-pregnant actress Sharon Tate, was murdered along with coffee heiress Abigail Folger, Jay Sebring, Voytek Frykowski and Steven Parent. The second night, supermarket chain president Leno LaBianca and his wife, Rosemary, were found stabbed to death in their home.

How did Charles Manson, who spent almost half his life in prison prior to the murders, become so adept at manipulating people to the point where they would do anything for him? How did he get his followers to murder for him and even enjoy it? The movie will show where Manson and his family lived at Spahn Ranch, and will reveal the bizarre dynamics of the family, the evil philosophy Manson preached to his followers, the twisted mind-games he played with them, how he stripped them of any morality they may have had and how he convinced them it was time for "helter skelter."

Jeremy Davies made his feature film debut starring in the Sundance Film Festival winner, "Spanking the Monkey," a role for which he received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. His additional feature film credits include "Saving Private Ryan," "The Million Dollar Hotel," "Nell," "The Locusts," "Twister" and "Guncrazy." Most recently, Davies co-starred in the films "Solaris," "Dogville" and "Secretary."

Bruno Kirbys television credits include the mini-series "American Tragedy," for the Network, and "The Larry Sanders Show." His feature film credits include "One Eyed King," "Stuart Little," "Donnie Brasco," "Basketball Diaries," "City Slickers," "When Harry Met Sally," "Good Morning, Vietnam" and "This is Spinal Tap."

Clea Duvalls television credits include "Carnivale," "The Fugitive," "ER" and "The Laramie Project." Her feature film credits include "21 Grams," "Identity," "Girl, Interrupted," "Shes All That," "The Faculty" and "Cant Hardly Wait."

Marguerite Moreaus television credits include "Smallville," "3rd Rock From the Sun," "Boy Meets World," "Brooklyn Bridge," "The Wonder Years," and the television movie "The Locket," for the Network. Her feature film credits include "Runaway Jury," "Easy" and "Queen of the Damned."

Allison Smiths television credits include "CSI," "The West Wing," "ER," "Sweet Justice," "Wasteland," "Sweet Justice," "Kate & Allie" and "Buddy Faro," for the Network. Her feature film credits include "Holes" and "The Animatrix."

Vincent Bugliosi has uncommonly attained success in two separate and distinct fields, as a lawyer and an author. Three of his books, Helter Skelter, And the Sea Will Tell and Outrage: The Five Reasons O.J. Simpson Got Away With Murder, reached Number One on the New York Times best-seller list, setting a record that no other American true crime author has achieved. Additionally, Helter Skelter and his book Till Death Do Us Part won the Edgar Allan Poe Award for best true crime book of the year.

HELTER SKELTER is being produced by The Wolper Organization. Mark Wolper ("Mists of Avalon"), Peter Miller and Vincent Bugliosi are executive producers. John Gray ("Martin and Lewis") is the writer and director, based on the book by Vincent Bugliosi.
