CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- UPN has scheduled the second season of its popular reality series "America's Next Top Model." The show's sophomore cycle of 10 episodes will begin airing Tuesdays at 9:00/8:00c beginning January 13.
Tyra Banks will return to host the new season which "exposes the transformation of everyday young women into potentially fierce top models, who live together in a New York loft and vie for the grand prize," according to a network press release. The number of finalists has also been raised from 10 to 12 for the latest installment.
"Top Model's" first season averaged 3.7 million viewers for its eight-week run, increasing its viewership from 2.9 million to 4.5 million over the course of the summer. More importantly, it was UPN's highest-rated program last season among all adult women.
It's not clear how "Top Model's" return will affect current Tuesday, 9:00/8:00c time slot holder "Rock Me Baby," which was recently picked up for a full season, or a possible return of "The Mullets," which has been on hiatus since October.
