CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- ABC has officially pulled the plug on its new reality series "The Real Roseanne Show" after just two weeks on the air. The news comes shortly after Monday's announcement that ABC Family has scrapped its plans for "Domestic Goddess," the talk show whose development "The Real Roseanne Show" was chronicling.
The Alphabet network plans to fill the Wednesday, 9:00/8:00c hour with repeats of "The George Lopez Show" and a mix of new episodes and encores of "The Drew Carey Show" beginning tomorrow night.
With the death of "Goddess," it wasn't a huge surprise that "The Real Roseanne Show" followed suit, especially with the series' poor ratings performance. For its brief run, the series averaged a paltry 2.0 rating and 6 share in adults 18-49.
ABC has nine episodes of "Roseanne" still in the can.
Meanwhile, in other ABC news the network announced today it will expand the September 23 season premiere of Tuesday comedy "Eight Simple Rules..." to a full hour. To make room for the extra episode, ABC will push back the bow of freshman comedy "I'm With Her" to the following week at 8:30/7:30c.
