CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- With NBC, CBS and FOX already serving up new series for the summer months, ABC finally got on the bandwagon yesterday by unveiling some of its plans for the period.
Here's a breakdown of what to expect:
-- "The Drew Carey Show," which hasn't been on the Alphabet network's schedule for over four months, is set to return with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, June 25 at 9:00/8:00c. Double installments are expected to fill the hour through July 23.
-- Then on July 30, look for ABC to recap the first three episodes of its failed reality series "The Family" in a two-hour special starting at 9:00/8:00c. The following week on August 6, the first of six new episodes kicks off at 10:00/9:00c. ABC had previously yanked the series in March due to low ratings.
-- Also on August 6, "The Real Roseanne Show" takes over the Wednesday, 9:00/8:00c slot. Back-to-back installments of the half-hour project are set to fill the hour through the start of the fall season. 13 episodes of the reality series, which follows the comedian's life, have been completed.
-- And finally as reported yesterday, "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" is set to return with several unaired episodes beginning Friday, June 20 at 9:00/8:00c.
-- Still to be announced are the start dates for ABC's other reality concepts expected to bow this summer: "The Diary Affairs," "Love for Sale" and "Rich Guy, Poor Guy."
