CUPID (CBS) - Former MTV VJ Brian McFayden has been named the host of Simon Cowell's ("American Idol") upcoming summer reality series for CBS. Production on the series, which aims to find the perfect mate for an eligible young woman, is set to begin on May 19.
HOUSE ARREST (Comedy Central) - The cable network is set to use 15-60 clips from the animated comedy pilot as interstitials for the channel. The project, created by Eric Brown, Tom Sellitti and Jim Serpico, stars Chico and Beanie, two twentysomething underachievers who, adhering to former's mandatory house-arrest sentence, sit on the couch all day and watch visual illustrations of jokes by stand-up comedians. Already set to appear are comedians Dane Cook, Greg Fitzsimmons, Janeane Garofalo, Jay Mohr, Patrice O'Neal, Jeffrey Ross and Denis Leary. The pilot, which is from Leary and Serpico's production company - Apostle Pictures, is said to be a serious contender for a series order.
