CLICKBAIT (Quibi, New!) - Writer Adam Sorin, director Mark Molloy and actor Fionn Whitehead are set to team for a new short-form series at the streaming service which "tells the true story of a group of Macedonian teenagers who made a fortune creating fake news in the run-up to the 2016 election." Whitehead headlines the cast as Niko, "one of the Macedonian teenage ringleaders. Niko is described as a young man desperate to escape his circumstances, who discovers that publishing fake news could be his golden ticket." 6th & Idaho's Matt Reeves and Adam Kassan; Stampede Ventures' Greg Silverman and Paul Shapiro; and Ann Ruark are set to executive produce. (Variety.com)
DUSTER (HBO Max) - LaToya Morgan has signed a reported three-year, high-seven figure overall deal with Warner Bros. Television Group. The pact covers her duties on the upcoming series as well as any future development via her newly launched TinkerToy Productions. (Deadline.com)
GHOSTS (CBS) - Utkarsh Ambudkar has booked a role on the Rose McIver-led comedy pilot as Ryan, "Sam's husband, is a thoroughly modern dude with a love of nerdom and a talented chef." (Deadline.com)
MAD MEN (AMC) - The Lionsgate-produced drama will transition its streaming rights to Amazon, AMC and IMDb TV in the coming year. They'll succeed Netflix, its digital home since 2011. Said run will include an episode featuring blackface, with an accompanying card saying: "This episode contains disturbing images related to race in America. One of the characters is shown in blackface as part of an episode that shows how commonplace racism was in America in 1963. In its reliance on historical authenticity, the series producers are committed to exposing the injustices and inequities within our society that continue to this day so we can examine even the most painful parts of our history in order to reflect on who we are today and who we want to become. We are therefore presenting the original episode in its entirety." (Deadline.com)
NINE PERFECT STRANGERS (Hulu) - Melvin Gregg has scored a role opposite Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy in the limited series as Ben, one of the nine "perfect" strangers. (Deadline.com)
SAFEHAVEN (Crackle) - Brad Turner has signed on to direct and executive produce the upcoming series, a supernatural thriller based on James Seale's graphic novel. The project, which is targeting a late August/early September production start, will also be executive produced by Seale, Jessica Petelle, Kevin V. Duncan, Tom Vitale, Orwo Productions' Terry Bird and Jake Seal, Landmark Studio Group's David Ozer and Tim Rouhana and 451 Media Group's Michael Bay. (Deadline.com)
SWIPE SWAP (Lifetime, New!) - ITV Entertainment and Sarah Jessica Parker's Pretty Matches Productions are set to team for a new reality project at the network in which "two hopeful singles trade places and adopt each other's lifestyles - from living in one another's homes and visiting each other's favorite local haunts, to connecting with one another's closest friends and family - all in the pursuit of romance in their new cities." Alison Benson, Adam Sher, Jordana Hochman and Karen Kunkel Young will executive produce alongside Parker. (Deadline.com)
