BARRY (HBO) - Liz Sarnoff has signed an overall deal with HBO. As part of the pact, she'll be promoted to executive producer on the series as well as develop new series projects. (Deadline.com)
BLACK GIRL MAGIC (NBC, New!) - Emebeit Beyene, Crystal Boyd and Chandra Russell have sold a single-camera comedy to the Peacock about "three estranged sisters who learn a mysterious secret about their family history that changes their lives and brings them back to the magical world of New Orleans." Robia Rashid, Bryan Brucks and I'll Have Another's Gabrielle Union will also executive produce the Sony Pictures Television-based project with Holly Shakoor Fleischer as a co-executive producer. CHI, THE (Showtime) - Miriam A. Hyman has scored an arc on the series as Dre, "a high school guidance counselor who will affect the life of Kevin (Alex Hibbert) in a major way." (Deadline.com)
CONTROL (CBS, New!) - Jonathan Collier has sold a medical drama to the Eye about "the members of the Center for Disease Control's Rapid Response Team, the "special forces" of the CDC, who fly into our nation's hot zones, working feverishly to diagnose and eradicate the greatest threats to the future of humankind." Sony Pictures Television is behind the hour with Osprey Productions' Josh Berman and Chris King also set to executive produce. (Deadline.com)
FILTHY RICH (FOX) - Rachel York is slated to recur on the midseason drama as Tina, "Ginger's (Melia Kreiling) mom, a former Vegas cocktail waitress, and one time mistress of Eugene Monreaux (Gerald McRaney) who may just hold the secrets to bring down Margaret Monreaux (Kim Cattrall)." HAWAII FIVE-0 (CBS) - Jorge Garcia's Jerry Ortega is bowing out as a regular on the series after five seasons. (TVLine.com)
INTO THE DARK (Hulu) - Kerr Smith, Reign Edwards, Peter Giles, Courtney Henggeler, Taj Speights and Antonio Raul Corbo are set to star in the franchise's latest Thankgiving installment, "Pilgrim." Said episode "follows Ms. Anna Barker, who invites Pilgrim re-enactors to her family's Thanksgiving in an effort to remind them of their privilege and help them bond. When the "actors" refuse to break character, the Barker family learns that there is such a thing as too much gratitude." (Deadline.com)
LAST HAPPY COUPLE, THE (CBS, New!) - Liz Astrof has sold a domestic take on the Israel series "La Famiglia" to the Eye, about "a perfectly normal suburban couple who decides to go to therapy to avoid becoming another divorce statistic." Original series creators Ran Dovrat, Avi Belkin and Ohad Perach are also on board to executive produce the CBS Television Studios-based project, as are Fulwell 73's James Corden, Ben Winston and Jeff Grosvenor; Anonymous Content's Robyn Meisinger; Efrat Dror, Zivit Davidovitch and Avi Armoza. LAW & ORDER: SVU (NBC) - Margaret Cho has been tapped for an upcoming episode as "a massage-parlor manager who's swept up in a sex-trafficking sting operation." (TVLine.com)
LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE (Hulu) - Anika Noni Rose is the latest addition to the limited series as Paula Hawthorne, "a renowned photographer and art professor in New York who becomes a mentor to Mia (Tiffany Boone in flashback and Kerry Washington in the present-day) when she is young." (Variety.com)
MARE OF EASTTOWN (HBO) - The Kate Winslet-led limited series has cast Julianne Nicholson as Lori Ross; Jean Smart as Helen, Mare's mother; Angourie Rice as Siobhan Sheehank, Mare and Frank's daughter; Evan Peters as Detective Colin Zabel; Cailee Spaeny as Erin McMenamin; and David Denman as Frank Sheehan. Winslet stars as Mare, a small-town Pennsylvania detective whose life crumbles around her as she investigates a local murder. (Deadline.com)
POSSESSED (ABC, New!) - Feature writers Carey and Chad Hayes (The Conjuring) have set up a new drama at the Alphabet about "a young woman, who after a near death experience, becomes a vessel for the dead to avenge their wrongful deaths." The project is based on Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation's South Korean format with Craig Plestis; Citizen Media's Paul Wesley; and Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor also serving as executive producers. PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: THE PERFECTIONISTS (Freeform) - The cable channel has pulled the plug on the spin-off series after one season. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED HEATHER ANNE CAMPBELL PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Comedian Heather Anne Campbell has set up a multi-camera comedy at the network about "online shopping company Endless that has taken over nearly every aspect of life. Warehouse 14 is Endless' West Coast distribution center, and it's so big it has three zip codes. The people who work in the warehouse are each on different trajectories - some are climbing the ladder of success while others are sliding toward obsolescence. It's a big warehouse in a brave new world. A world designed by Endless, filled with the stories of Warehouse 14." Gail Berman will also executive produce for SideCar and FOX Entertainment.
