"48 HOURS" CRIME TIME DOUBLE FEATURE: INSIDE CASES WHERE REPTILES ARE SUSPECTS OF MURDER

Back-to-Back Encore Episodes All Summer

Saturday, Aug. 3

9:00 PM, ET/PT - 48 HOURS goes deep into the swamps of Florida for the strange case of a missing duck hunter, who is said to have been eaten by alligators more than two decades ago, and the investigation that led police elsewhere, in an encore of "Cold-Blooded Killer," to be broadcast Saturday, Aug. 3 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+. It's a case that tests the imagination, tests human relationships and tests the will of a mother who never gave up hope of finding her lost son. Mike Williams, a successful 31-year-old real estate appraiser, left home to go duck hunting on Lake Seminole in Florida on Dec. 16, 2000. His wife said he set out early and promised to be back by noon so they could celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary that evening. When he didn't return home, his wife started calling around looking for him. Six hours later, a massive search was underway. It took 17 years before his family got answers. Watch a preview.

10:00 PM, ET/PT - In the moments after snake breeder Ben Renick was found dead, investigators thought he might have been the victim of an attack by one of his prized reptiles. But he wasn't. It was worse, much worse. Peter Van Sant and 48 HOURS investigate Renick's death and the trail that led to a person in his life who was more dangerous and more slippery than any reptile in his care, in an encore of "The Poisonous Wife," to be broadcast Saturday, Aug. 3 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+. On a hot day in June 2017, Lynlee Renick called 911 to say her husband was face down in a pool of blood. She said she found him in his snake facility, home to more than 3,000 reptiles, some worth thousands of dollars. Ben Renick was shot multiple times. But by whom? Watch a preview.
