HBO Documentary News Series AXIOS Continues October 17
The Emmy(R)-winning series AXIOS on HBO continues with a new episode SUNDAY, OCTOBER 17 (6:00-6:30 p.m. ET/PT). The sharp and insightful news-making series features thought-provoking interviews with top leaders from the worlds of politics, tech, media, science, and business. Directed and produced by Emmy(R) winners Matthew O'Neill and Perri Peltz, the series features Axios' signature Smart Brevity(R) analysis, documentary-style reporting, and in-depth conversations on the topics and trends shaping the globe.
The series will air on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max.
This week's episode features the following segments:
· Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona sits down with Axios national political correspondent Jonathan Swan to discuss the progress of schools reopening, the administration's response to state and local masking policies, the future of vaccine mandates for children, and the proposed education spending as part of the "Build Back Better" plan.
· Louisiana's Senior Senator, Bill Cassidy, meets with Axios co-founder Mike Allen in his home state as he surveys recent damage from Hurricane Ida. The senator - one of seven Senate Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump following January 6th - talks about the future of the Republican Party and the case for infrastructure spending.
· Intel CEO Patrick Gelsinger discusses the global microchip shortage with Axios' chief technology correspondent Ina Fried. The two delve into the implications of the shortage and Intel's plans for the future.
· Coty CEO Sue Y. Nabi speaks with Axios' media reporter Sara Fischer about the $500 billion beauty industry and the legacy company's transformation. Nabi, the only transgender CEO of a Fortune 500 company, discusses the company's work with the Kardashian and Jenner families, cosmetics in the age of the influencer and genderless beauty.
