THE "OTHER WOMAN" IN A LOVE TRIANGLE THAT ENDED IN MURDER SPEAKS OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME ON NETWORK TELEVISION IN "48 HOURS: THE MURDER OF ANNA REPKINA"

Michelle Chavez tells Correspondent Tracy Smith: "I Didn't Want Anything Bad to Happen to Her. I Just Didn't Want Her Here."

Moscow, Russia, native Anna Repkina was found murdered on a remote Oregon logging road in April 2017. Just days later, police arrested American Will Hargrove. Turns out, Repkina met Hargrove online and after a whirlwind romance, the pair got engaged. What Repkina didn't know when she relocated to the U.S. to marry Hargrove was that she was moving right into the middle of a love triangle.

Now, for the first time, the "other woman" in that love triangle speaks to 48 HOURS in "The Murder of Anna Repkina" to be broadcast Saturday, Oct. 31 (10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Repkina's body was discarded alongside pieces of trash. There was a KFC bag with a receipt dated April 14, 2017, which turned out to be just a few days before she was found. That led police to Hargrove, who lied to investigators saying he'd met Repkina locally and had dated her just twice before breaking it off.

Hargrove didn't tell police that he'd been dating Michelle Chavez the whole time he'd been romancing Repkina.

Once Chavez found out Repkina had moved to Oregon to marry Hargrove, she put her foot down. Chavez, who has not been charged with a crime, admits she gave Hargrove an ultimatum.

"At one point I did," Chavez tells correspondent Tracy Smith. "I told him he had to pick one. ... I didn't want anything bad to happen to her. I just didn't want her here."

Did that ultimatum lead to murder?

"I know for a fact that Michelle didn't want Anna even over here in the states," says Hargrove's friend Joseph Thompson. "He was basically given the ultimatum of one or the other."

After Repkina was found, police were able to piece together security footage and other evidence to create a detailed timeline on either side of her murder.

They also uncovered an unusual clue: Hargrove had done a deep dive online into time travel.

"I need to learn about time travel. I need to correct a horrible mistake," Hargrove wrote in a WhatsApp message. "I'd honestly sell my soul."
