THE GIRLFRIEND OF ACTOR VERNE TROYER AND WIFE OF FORMER NFL STAR HINES WARD SWAP LIVES FOR ONE WEEK ON ABC'S "CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP"
"'Verne Troyer" / "Hines Ward" - Actor Verne Troyer ("Austin Powers") and former NFL wide receiver Hines Ward ("Dancing with the Stars") are featured on "Celebrity Wife Swap," WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 12 (10:00--11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. (Rebroadcast. OAD: 5/27/15)
Verne Troyer is best known for his role as Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movie franchise. He resides in Los Angeles, CA with his girlfriend Brittney and her son Tyson where Brittney takes the lead on parenting Tyson who is allowed to have "free range," coming and going as he pleases. Verne finds it hard to navigate and go outside without being recognized, so as a result, he enjoys spending the majority of his time at home in his game room, which is the only room in his home designed to accommodate his small stature.
Hines Ward is a two-time Super Bowl winner and MVP, former NFL wide receiver with the Pittsburgh Steelers and former mirrorball champion of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars." He now works as a football analyst and lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife Lindsey and son Jaden. Hines likes to run a tight ship where everyone contributes to maintaining the upkeep of the home. Jaden also follows a schedule and has his own responsibilities, including homework.
When it's time for the swap, Brittney arrives in Atlanta and is overwhelmed by the size of Hines' home while Lindsey is underwhelmed by her new home. Adapting to the routines of their new families, Brittney struggles to keep up with Jaden's schedule and all of the household responsibilities Lindsey usually handles. Back in Los Angeles, Lindsey isn't comfortable with Tyson staying out late on school nights and not having responsibility. When it's time for the rules to change, both women are determined to make changes that will impact each family in a positive way.
"Celebrity Wife Swap" features two women of celebrity families trading households, lifestyles and children (but not bedrooms) for one week. During that time, the women - and swap families - learn what it is like to live in someone else's shoes, but everything changes during the second half of the week when the women make their own rules and get the chance to run the household their way. At the end of the week, the couples reunite for a raw, honest and highly-charged exchange of views in which they make frank assessments of one another and discuss the experience
"Celebrity Wife Swap" is produced by Zodiak LA. Bruce Toms, Tony Yates, Alex Cross, Michael Davies, Joel Karsberg and Cem Yeter are executive producers. It is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound. This program carries a TV-PG,D,L parental guideline.
