"Marcus Lemonis, Miami, FL" - CEO & Chairman of Camping World and Good Sam touches the lives of many when he returns to a very disadvantaged community of his Miami childhood hometown to secretly seek out those most in need. Over the course of seven days, this billion dollar business owner leaves his luxurious Chicago lifestyle and moves into a rundown trailer at welfare level wages. While there, he volunteers and gets to know some selfless heroes who are sacrificing their time, energy and money to provide a good home for young women at risk and to clothe children living in poverty. At week's end, Marcus gifts these amazing people with hundreds of thousands of dollars of his own money and confesses to having had "the single greatest experience of his life," on "Secret Millionaire," SUNDAY, AUGUST 5 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET), on The ABC Television Network.
Marcus Lemonis came from a notable beginning. He was abandoned in Beirut, Lebanon during the chaos of civil war and foreign invasions. At nine months old he was adopted, then raised in Miami, Florida. As Chairman & CEO of Camping World & Good Sam, Lemonis has been recognized as 2007 "Newsmaker of the Year" by RV Business Magazine, was named one of Crain's Chicago "40 under 40" in 200, as well as the 2008 Ernst & "Young Entrepreneur of the Year."
Based on the hit UK series of the same name, each episode of "Secret Millionaire" follows one of America's most successful business people for one week as they leave behind their lavish lifestyles, sprawling mansions and luxury jets, conceal their true identities, and go to live and volunteer in some of the most impoverished and dangerous neighborhoods in the country. Their mission is to discover deserving individuals who continually sacrifice everything to help those in need, and ultimately encourage others to do the same. Throughout this incredible, life-changing experience, the Secret Millionaires attempt to remain undiscovered, coming face to face with extraordinary people battling the odds every day of their lives. On the final day, in an emotional and dramatic climax, they reveal their true identities. Ultimately, the millionaires each give away a great deal of their own money, changing lives forever and encouraging others to keep giving back.
