"Seabiscuit" tells the rags-to-riches tale of three men � Johnny "Red" Pollard (Tobey Maguire), a half-blind ex-prizefighter, Tom Smith (Chris Cooper), a horse breaker, and Charlie Howard, a millionaire who lost everything -- and Howard's down-and-out racehorse named Seabiscuit. After teaming up, these three men rediscover hope through Seabiscuit, who takes them -- and the nation -- on the ride of a lifetime, along the way accomplishing great feats that ultimately led to Horse-of-the-Year honors in 1938.
"Seabiscuit" stars Jeff Bridges as Charlie Howard, Tobey Maguire as Johnny "Red" Pollard, Valerie Mahaffey (TV's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as Annie Howard and Chris Cooper ("Capote," "Jarheard") as Tom Smith.
The film, released in 2003, was written and directed by Gary Ross based on the book by Laura Hillenbrand.
"SEABISCUIT" IN HDTV:
The ABC Television Network's HDTV broadcast of "Seabiscuit" will air in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio via SAP.
