Viewers to Vote Online at CBS.com for the Best Super Bowl Commercial of All Time - With the Result Announced At the End of the Show
SUPER BOWL'S GREATEST COMMERCIALS 2008, an interactive entertainment special hosted by Jim Nantz, Lead Play-by-Play Announcer of THE NFL ON CBS, and co-host Daisy Fuentes, will be broadcast Saturday, Jan. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Sponsors showcase their best commercials during the Super Bowl and the big game wouldn't be quite the same without them. For many, watching the commercials is the most fun part of the Super Bowl and at millions of dollars for 30 seconds on air, advertisers try to get their money's worth by rolling out their most creative and innovative spots. This one-hour special, which will originate from Majerle's Sports Grill and the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, showcases 10 of the greatest commercials of all time. This season, reigning champion Mean Joe Greene is the ad to beat. The "Super Bowl's Greatest Commercial" winner for the past six years, Coca-Cola's "Mean Joe Greene" spot made its Super Bowl debut in 1980 and featured the imposing Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle softening his gruff exterior after a young fan offered him a cold bottle of Coke following a particularly tough day on the gridiron. Will this be the year another takes the top honor?
The 10 greatest Super Bowl commercials will vie for the number one spot. Viewers can now go to http://www.cbs.com/ to watch them and vote for their favorite. This year, the top three picks will be revealed during the show and, in a special vote on http://www.cbs.com/, viewers will decide which commercial will take home the ultimate title.
