'DATELINE NBC' PRESENTS 'WILD BILL STANTON: WATCHING YOUR BACK' ON MONDAY, SEPT. 3 AT 10 PM
NEW YORK August 22, 2007 "Today's" security consultant Wild Bill Stanton returns to primetime with his second hidden camera investigation testing Americans' vigilance in "Wild Bill Stanton: Watching Your Back," on Monday, Sept. 3 (10 p.m. ET). For this "Dateline NBC" special presentation, Stanton travels from our nation's city streets to its beach shores demonstrating to Americans that being alert and aware not only keeps money in your pockets, but also more importantly keeps you and your family safe from harms way. This broadcast showcases Stanton's off the cuff style as the former NYPD police officer engages people after catching them with their guard down, asking the questions that many people don't think to ask.
With the premise that most Americans aren't aware of how easily they can be taken advantage of, the hour-long report takes an in-depth look at pick pocketing, some discount travel, women's safety in bars and children's safety home alone. Stanton also tests Americans vigilance when it comes to protecting their neighborhood from graffiti. Some of the most shocking instances include male bar goers saying that they have always wanted to spike a woman's drink with the date rape drug known as a "roofie"; and children home alone allowing a stranger in their house while their parents watch shocked from a distance.
Safety tips will be posted on www.dateline.msnbc.com, as well as exclusive video from Stanton's travels and encounters. Viewers are encouraged to send in questions and comments and Stanton will respond to them after the show on the blog, "Inside Dateline."
