OF THE "WONDERFUL WORLD OF DISNEY," SATURDAY, JULY 14
Jamie Lee Curtis ("Christmas with the Kranks," "Halloween: Resurrection") and Lindsay Lohan ("Georgia Rule," "Mean Girls") star in the remake of the 1976 Disney classic, "Freaky Friday," airing in HDTV with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio via SAP on the "Wonderful World of Disney," SATURDAY, JULY 14 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. (Rebroadcast. OAD 5/26/06)
Dr. Tess Coleman (Curtis) and her fifteen-year-old daughter, Anna (Lohan), are having some pretty typical mother-daughter problems, like being polar opposites in their ideas about music, clothes and hairstyles. But they develop a not-so-typical problem when, one fateful Thursday night, they go to a Chinese restaurant and eat two fortune cookies that cast a switching spell on them. When they wake up the next morning, their Friday turns fantastically freaky when they realize that they've somehow switched bodies!
"Freaky Friday" stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman, Lindsay Lohan as Anna Coleman, Mark Harmon (TV's "Navy: NCIS," "Chasing Liberty") as Ryan, Harold Gould ("English as a Second Language," TV's "Judging Amy") as Grandpa and Chad Michael Murray (TV's "One Trees Hill") as Jake.
The film, released in 2003, was written by Heather Hach and Leslie Dixon, based on the novel by Mary Rodgers. It was directed by Mark Waters.
