"Melting Pot"

AN ACTRESS TURNED DIRECTOR IS FOUND HANGING DEAD IN HER OFFICE, BUT SUICIDE IS QUICKLY RULED OUT -- An actress is found hanging in her office, but it wasn't suicide, Detectives Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) and Nina Cassady (Milena Govich) quickly discover that the actress suffered a major hit to the head, prior to being hung, the case is clearly a murder staged as a suicide. After checking with her family, the investigation is lead to a recent controversial film she was working on, but all of the suspects alibi's check out. The detectives turn their focus on a construction worker who had an argument with the actress over noise. As they get close to a suspect an illegal immigrant, working for a construction company, he admits that the actress had hit her head while fighting with him. However, he is able to prove that he left before she was hung. Afraid of his cousin and him being deported he will not reveal the murderer, so A.D.A.s Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) and Connie Rubirosa (Alana De La Garza) arrange for his cousin to be deported, so the suspect outs the real murderer. S.Epatha Merkerson and Fred Dalton Thompson also star.
