CHARLES GIBSON TO ANCHOR ABC�S COVERAGE OF THE STATE OF THE UNION, BEGINNING AT 9 P.M., ET, TUESDAY, JANUARY 23 ON ABC

Live Coverage to Include Democratic Response

ABC will carry President George Bush�s State of the Union address live on TUESDAY, JANUARY 23. Coverage will begin at 9:00 p.m., ET and will also include the Democratic response. Charles Gibson will anchor ABC�s coverage from Capitol Hill. He will be joined by George Stephanopoulos, Martha Raddatz, Jake Tapper, and Kate Snow in Washington and Dan Harris in Baghdad. ABC News commentator George Will, ABC News Financial Contributor Mellody Hobson, and ABC News consultant General Jack Keane will also contribute. The network�s coverage will include viewer responses to the speech, gathered via ABCNEWS.com and ABC News Now.

Mr. Gibson will interview presidential hopeful Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) following President Bush�s address and the Democratic response.

Mr. Gibson will anchor �World News� from Washington, D.C. on Tuesday. After the speech, �Nightline� will provide additional post-State of the Union coverage and analysis, live at 11:35 p.m., ET, with Terry Moran anchoring from Washington. On Wednesday, �Good Morning America� will feature morning-after reaction to the President�s speech. In addition, �GMA� news anchor Chris Cuomo, who will be reporting from Iraq throughout the week, will interview troops for their reaction to the address.

ABC News Now will provide live anchored coverage of the State of the Union, as well as analysis of the President�s speech, interviews with special guests, and video participation by viewers. This unique viewer involvement, a feature of ABC News Now's �Be Seen and Be Heard� digital outreach via cell phones and webcams, will allow viewers to contribute to an electronic dialogue following the President's address.

ABCNEWS.com will feature a special section for the State of the Union that will include original stories, slideshows, videos and message boards. The site will invite viewers to vote on the President's address online, and the results will be broadcast on the digital channel and featured on the website.

ABC News Radio will provide extensive coverage of the State of the Union address and the Democratic response starting at 9:00 p.m., ET anchored by ABC News Special Correspondent Gil Gross, with ABC News White House correspondent Ann Compton and ABC News correspondent Vic Ratner on Capitol Hill. Prior to the President's address, ABC News Radio will provide a one-hour special at 8:06 p.m., ET that examines issues the President is expected to discuss.

ABC NewsOne, the affiliate news feed service of ABC News, will provide live reports from Washington D.C. with ABC News correspondents Maya Kulycky, Stephanie Sy and Andrea Canning for more than 200 ABC affiliates and clients.
