Reveals Plans for Fall Primetime Special
The ABC Television Network has announced that it will renew popular Late-Night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live, carrying the show through 2008.
I am delighted to have been asked to host a fifth year of Jimmy Kimmel Live. I watch it all the time, said Kimmel of the renewal.
Jimmy Kimmel is the future of late night television, and were thrilled to have him on ABC, said Andrea Wong, executive vice president, Alternative Programming, Specials and Late-Night, ABC Entertainment. His show exhibits great creative strength, which is reflected in his growing audience. As the only Late-Night host whose ratings are up versus last year, we expect his momentum to continue next season.
The show has also revealed plans for a fall primetime special entitled Jimmy Kimmel Lives All-Star Salute to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, set to air WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network. The one-hour special will include many of the best moments from the shows past three and a half years, and will be taped in front of a live studio audience.
Kimmel continued about the primetime special: If people dont watch this, I am going to be so mad, you wont even believe it.
Jimmy Kimmel Lives All-Star Salute to Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be packed with surprise guest cameos, memorable celebrity guest appearances, ground-breaking music performances and signature Jimmy Kimmel Live comedy segments, including highlights from regular correspondents --Jimmys Cousin Sal, Uncle Frank, Aunt Chippy and the shows parking lot security guard, Guillermo.
