"THE SUM OF ALL FEARS," THE ACTION THRILLER STARRING BEN AFFLECK, TO BE BROADCAST AS THE "CBS SUNDAY MOVIE," FEB. 12 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

THE SUM OF ALL FEARS, the 2002 action thriller based on the Tom Clancy bestseller and starring Academy Award winner Ben Affleck ("Good Will Hunting") and Golden Globe Award winner Morgan Freeman ("Driving Miss Daisy") will be broadcast as the "CBS Sunday Movie," Sunday, Feb. 12 (9:00-11:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

America's Cold War fears are rekindled after the President of Russia dies and is succeeded by a man with a cryptic past. But, East-West tensions erupt when the CIA suspects that renegade Russian scientists are developing more nuclear weapons. Mobilized into action by CIA Director William Cabot (Morgan Freeman), Jack Ryan (Affleck) follows a dangerous trail to a shocking conclusion: terrorists plan to provoke a war between the U.S. and Russia by detonating a nuclear bomb at a championship football game.

THE SUM OF ALL FEARS is the fourth Tom Clancy novel featuring his famous protagonist, CIA analyst Jack Ryan, to be made into a film following "The Hunt For Red October," "Patriot Games" and "Clear and Present Danger."

Phil Alden Robinson ("Field of Dreams") directed from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman and Paul Attanasio and Dan Pyne. The executive producers are Tom Clancy and Stratton Leopold ("The General's Daughter"). Mace Neufeld is the producer for Paramount Pictures.
