A hit man accustomed to delivering death has the tables turned on him and his family, in �Road to Perdition,� a raw period drama driven by ruthless mobs, vendettas and the touching, compassionate relationship of a father and son. Starring Tom Hanks, Paul Newman and Jude Law, the Oscar-winning picture for Best Cinematography will have its network television premiere SATURDAY, JANUARY 28 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
ABC�s presentation, which will air in HDTV with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish audio, will contain more than 14 minutes of additional footage never released in the theatrical version.
Known as the �Angel of Death,� Michael Sullivan (Hanks) leads the dual life of an unassailable hit man and a devoted family man. His world is turned upside down, however, after his son witnesses him completing a job and his mob boss, John Rooney (Newman), moves to eliminate his entire family. With only his eldest son surviving the attack, Sullivan embarks on a mission of revenge while trying to protect his remaining child from Harlen Maguire, (Law), the hit man Rooney hired to finish things. Can Sullivan find justice and redemption, or has his past doomed him and his son to a brutal, shortened future?

�Road to Perdition� was directed by Sam Mendes (�Jarhead� and �American Beauty�). The graphic novel was written by Max Allan Collins (TV Series �CSI: Miami� and �A Matter of Principle�) and the graphic novel art was done by Richard Piers Rayner.
