KENNY CHESNEY TAKES ABC �SOMEWHERE IN THE SUN�

Country Music Superstar�s First Network TV Special, Which Will Air in HDTV, Offers Stage, Sea, Sand & Songs, Wednesday, November 23

As the reigning Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year gears up for his follow-up album, �The Road and the Radio,� to hit stores November 8, Kenny Chesney sets his eye on a new horizon: An ABC network TV special. The one hour program will juxtapose his high-energy sold out stage shows with the behind-the-scenes-camaraderie that defines his career and his lifestyle on the islands of the Caribbean. �Kenny Chesney: Somewhere in the Sun� airs in HDTV with 5.1-channel surround sound, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

The special will be anchored by Chesney�s sold-out show at Pittsburgh�s Heinz Stadium from his record breaking �Somewhere in the Sun� concert tour taped in July. Having sold well over a million concert tickets for the third summer in a row, and besting U2 by over 200,000 tickets as the biggest ticket seller for the first half of 2005, the man who�s sold 17 million albums -- including four million copies of �Greatest Hits,� �No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems� and the 2004 CMA Album of the Year, �When the Sun Goes Down� -- will strive to give viewers a sense of what truly makes him �the superstar next door.� His highly anticipated follow-up album, �The Road and the Radio,� hits stores November 8.

With an emphasis on music, the program will include his hits �When the Sun Goes Down,� �Old Blue Chair,� �Young� and many of the songs his fans know by heart, all to be given high-impact treatments -- and insight behind the revved up Chesney performances people expect.

Cameras will fly to the Caribbean island where Chesney finds refuge from his intense life on the road. There, the special brings you into the more relaxed world of a man who just happens to be one of the biggest country stars in the world -- away from the spotlight, enjoying the beauty of the tropics and the laidback activities that help him unwind and the soul-searching that allows him to reflect the lives, dreams and desires of so many. In addition, country music star Gretchen Wilson sings a special duet of �Hurts So Good� with Chesney in a never-before-seen televised performance.

�Kenny Chesney: Somewhere in the Sun� is executive-produced by Robert Deaton and directed by Gary Halvorson. The program will air in HDTV with 5.1-channel surround sound and Spanish subtitles via secondary closed captioning. It carries a TV-PG parental guideline.
