ABC SET TO AIR PRIMETIME SPECIAL ON LIVE 8

Two-Hour Highlights Show to Air Saturday, July 2

The ABC Television Network will broadcast "Live 8: A Worldwide Concert Event Presented by Nokia," a two-hour special event featuring highlights from the Live 8 concerts, including performances from some of the biggest musicians of our time -- Paul McCartney, U2, Coldplay and others -- SATURDAY, JULY 2 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET). Live 8, which will take place in Philadelphia, London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Toronto, South Africa and Tokyo, is intended to raise awareness around the world about poverty in Africa and to encourage the leaders of the G8 nations to eliminate Third World debt, increase aid to Africa and adopt fair trade practices.

Nokia serves as the presenting sponsor. America OnLine and Volvo Cars of North America are also sponsors of the ABC Television Network broadcast. AOL will stream the concerts live from around the world at www.aolmusic.com and will make the concerts available on demand for six weeks.
