ABC TELEVISION NETWORK

ABC's NFL "Monday Night Football," the most successful and longest-running primetime sports series, continues its 35th anniversary season with a match-up involving two of the league's top quarterbacks who are both battling back from injury. Tennessee Titans QB Steve McNair, last year's NFL co-MVP, who missed last week with a bruised sternum, will face off against three-time league MVP Brett Favre, who suffered a concussion in last week's game against the Giants in addition to existing hamstring and shoulder injuries. Both quarterbacks are expected to play on Monday. For Favre it will be his 194th consecutive game started, a record for NFL quarterbacks. Coverage from historic Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, begins MONDAY, OCTOBER 11, at 9:00 p.m., ET, on the ABC Television Network.

At halftime of this game, don't miss the world premiere of Tim McGraw's video, "How Bad Do You Want It," celebrating the 35th anniversary of "Monday Night Football".

The 2003 MNF regular season continues on MONDAY, OCTOBER 18, with a classic MNF match-up, as the St. Louis Rams host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. These two teams have met on MNF three times in the last four years.

COMMENTATORS:
Emmy Award-winning announcer Al Michaels is now in his 19th consecutive season as the play-by-play voice of "Monday Night Football." Michaels, one of television's most respected journalists, has appeared on live, primetime, over-the-air television more than anyone in the history of the medium, with the approximate total number of hours now approaching 2,000.

Joining him for his third season on MNF is the legendary John Madden. Madden recently won his unprecedented 14th Emmy Award for Outstanding Sports Personality/Sports Event Analyst.

New to the MNF team this year is sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, who has been the courtside reporter for ABC's coverage of the NBA Finals the last two seasons.

MICHAELS AND MADDEN MOST POPULAR:
Al Michaels and John Madden were voted the No. 1 favorite NFL announcing team by a TV Guide poll. They were selected No. 1 by 47% of the country. Their closest competitors were the Fox team of Joe Buck, Chris Collinsworth and Troy Aikman, with 24%.

Additionally, in a Sports Illustrated year-long poll to find America's favorite sportscaster, the magazine polled readers from each state, asking among other questions, "Who is your favorite announcer?" "Monday Night Football" analyst John Madden was voted No. 1 in 39 states and No. 2 in 10 states. In all, Madden and partner Al Michaels were voted the top two most popular sportscasters in America.

TENNESSEE TITANS VS. GREEN BAY PACKERS:
SERIES:
This is the ninth meeting between these two teams, with each team winning four times. This includes games when the Titans were the Houston Oilers. Since the franchise moved to Tennessee, the teams have split two games. The Titans/Oilers hold a 3-1 series lead at Lambeau Field; however the Packers won the last game played there 30-22 in 1998. The last game between these two teams was on Dec. 16, 2001 in Nashville, and the Titans won 26-20, which cost the Packers a shot at the NFC Central title.

This is a pivotal game for both teams who were considered playoff contenders before the season. The loser of this contest goes to 1-4.

Tennessee Titans (1-3)
The Titans have a 5-3 record on "Monday Night Football" since the franchise moved to Tennessee. Their only appearance last season was a 24-17 loss to the New York Jets in the Meadowlands in week 13. Prior to the 2000 season, when they won all three of their MNF appearances, the team had not appeared on MNF since they were known as the Houston Oilers, with their last appearance coming in the 1994 season. Overall the Titans/Oilers are 16-14 on MNF. The Titans' next MNF game will be in week 14, when they host the Kansas City Chiefs.

Green Bay Packers (1-3)
The Packers have an oveall record of 23-19-1 on "Monday Night Football," including a 6-1 record in their last seven games. The last time the Packers appeared on MNF was in week 1 this season, when they defeated the defending NFC champion Carolina Panthers 24-14 for their only victory this season. In week 16 of last season, the Packers defeated the Raiders 41-7, as Brett Favre threw for 399 yards and 4 TDs, one day after the sudden death of his father.

TIM MCGRAW'S "HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT" VIDEO DEBUTS AT HALFTIME:
Grammy Award-winning superstar Tim McGraw took the field last Monday, September 27, during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins "Monday Night Football" contest, to shoot scenes for his video, "How Bad Do You Want It." The video makes its world premiere on "Monday Night Football" at halftime of this game. The song is from McGraw's recently released platinum selling No. 1 album, "Live Like You Were Dying."

SAM ELLIOTT ON THE TOUGHNESS OF FAVRE AND MCNAIR:
The opening tease for this game will have TV and movie actor Sam Elliott reprising the role of a tough old cowboy extolling the toughness of quarterbacks Brett Favre and Steve McNair.
