For these kids - some of the most at-risk children in the nation, many of whom have been expelled from other schools and have been diagnosed with behavioral and emotional disorders -- Montefiore is their last best chance at turning their lives around. The expanded and updated episodes of the series pick up in 2016 as the school is closing amidst Chicago's most violent period in 20 years, following up on the teachers as they reconnect and attempt to reach out to their former students and save them from the streets.
