Friday's Primetime Rio Olympics Coverage Posted a Total Audience Delivery Average of 26 Million Viewers

Here are ratings notes from NBC Sports for Friday night based on metered-market results:

NBC Olympics Friday Overnight Notes

NBC's Fri. night Olympic coverage, featuring Ledecky's world record and a Phelps silver medal, posted a 15.9 rating, 28 share in metered-market households.

Also Friday in primetime - NBCSN averaged a 1.17 overnight & Bravo coverage (till 8:45 p.m. ET) posted a 0.22 in metered-market households.

Friday's U.S. women's soccer coverage posted 714,000 uniques and 25.6 million live streaming minutes - 4th-largest streaming event of the Olympics

NBC Olympics overall reached 1.5 BILLION live minutes streaming minutes via NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app

NBC's Fri. primetime overnight from 8-11pm ET (16.0) nearly tripled the combined total of ABC, CBS & Fox (5.8)

NBC's Friday primetime 7.6 rating among adults 18-49 is nearly six times the combined total of the other Big 4 nets (1.3)

Friday's Round 2 of golf's return to Olympics was up +329% on @GolfChannel vs. 2012 facing London Games (.30 overnight, 6:30am-3:15pm ET)

NBC OLYMPICS FAST NATIONAL RATINGS NOTES - FRIDAY, AUGUST 12

Friday's primetime Rio Olympics coverage posted a Total Audience Delivery average of 26 million viewers with a 15.0 household rating (chart below)

NBCSN on Friday posted its best-ever weekday viewership with an average of 1.38 million viewers (8 a.m.-midnight ET). Coverage featured U.S. women's soccer, U.S. women's basketball, and U.S. men's basketball.

After 8 days, the NBC-only average primetime viewership (28.1 million viewers) and household rating (15.6) have respective +260% and +206% advantages over ABC, CBS and Fox combined - the second-largest Games advantage on record (behind only the London Olympics), according to fast national data from Nielsen Media Research.

Among adults 18-49, NBC's eight-night 8.1 primetime rating in the demographic tops by +376% the other Big 4 networks combined (1.7 on ABC, CBS and Fox) - the largest advantage in the first 8 days of any Olympics on record.

Last night's NBC-only Rio Olympics coverage (8-11:08 p.m. ET/PT) averaged 24.0 million viewers with a 13.7/26 share.

NBCSN on Friday night averaged 1.58 million viewers in primetime, while Bravo's primetime tennis overrun averaged 308,000 viewers.
