TBS Tops Charts as Basic Cable's #1 Network Among Adults 18-34 in Primetime for 2012

TBS will finish 2012 as basic cable's #1 network in primetime delivery of adults 18-34, complete with exceptional year-over-year growth. TBS will also claim the year's #1 off-net series with A Big Bang Theory, which provided a successful launch pad for such originals as Men at Work and Sullivan & Son. Meanwhile, CONAN is set to finish the year with solid growth in Q4 as the series continues to rank as the #1 hour-long late-night show on television with adults 18-34.

"TBS has had a tremendous year, scoring remarkable success with original and off-net series," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). "We are now poised to build on our success in 2013, beginning in January with the arrival of Cougar Town and the launch of the new competition series King of the Nerds."

TBS 2012 Ratings Highlights

TBS ranks as basic cable's #1 network with adults 18-34 (553,000) in primetime.

TBS has charted extraordinary growth this year, with its primetime delivery of total viewers up 23% compared to 2011. TBS's demo deliveries are also up for the year-to-date, with a +12% boost among adults 18-34 and +20% increase with adults 18-49.

TBS's primetime entertainment programming boasts a median age of only 39, which is significantly younger than compatible programming on any of the broadcast networks.

Among TBS's achievements this year is the phenomenal success of The Big Bang Theory, which ranks as basic cable's #1 off-net series for the year-to-date among total viewers and adults 18-49.

The Big Bang Theory provided an outstanding platform from which to launch new original series, like TBS's hit original sitcom Men at Work, which averaged 2.5 million viewers and 1.6 million adults 18-49 for its first season.

The Big Bang Theory also provided a stellar launchpad for TBS's hit original sitcom Sullivan & Son, which in its first season averaged 2.7 million viewers and 1.4 million adults 18-49.

In late night, CONAN has enjoyed a strong year, averaging more than 1 million viewers and 663,000 adults 18-49. A hit among the younger set, CONAN ranks as late night's #1 hour-long talk show on cable or broadcast with adults 18-34 (353,000). CONAN is closing out 2012 on an upswing, with quarter-to-date figures rising by +10% among total viewers and +1% among adults 18-49, compared to Q4 2011.

TBS is poised to continue its success in 2013 with the eagerly anticipated arrival of the TBS original sitcom Cougar Town, plus new seasons of TBS's original hits Men at Work and Sullivan & Son. TBS will also launch three brand new shows in 2013: the reality competition series King of the Nerds, the hidden-camera prank show Who Gets the Last Laugh? and the new project from Conan O'Brien's Team Coco, Deon Cole's Black Box.
