Encore Telecast of "It's a Wonderful Life" Delivers NBC's Top Total-Viewer Result for a Saturday Night So Far This Season
NBC spins the numbers for Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1.

In Late-Night Metered-Market Household Averages for Saturday night:

* An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Daniel Craig and musical guest Muse, averaged a 3.7/9 in metered-market households. "SNL" scored its second-highest rating for an encore in metered-market households since February 25 (3.9 with a telecast hosted by Charlie Day with musical guest Maroon 5), trailing over that span only the October 27 rebroadcast (4.1 with an episode hosted by Jane Lynch with musical guest Bruno Mars). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, last night's "Saturday Night Live" averaged a 1.7 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49.

Saturday Primetime Results:

* From 8-11 p.m., an encore telecast of the 1946 movie classic "It's a Wonderful Life" (0.8/3 in 18-49, 4.1 million viewers) delivered NBC's top total-viewer result for a Saturday night so far this season and best for an in-season Saturday since January 21 ("Betty White's 90th Birthday" and encores of "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" and "SVU"). From its first half-hour to its sixth, "It's a Wonderful Life" increased its 18-49 rating by 57 percent (to a 1.1 from a 0.7) and its overall viewership by 51 percent or 1.7 million persons (to 5.1 million from 3.4 million).

* This is NBC's 33rd primetime run of "It's a Wonderful Life," directed by Frank Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart, since the movie was brought to broadcast network television in 1994.

Friday Primetime Results:

* From 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" averaged a 0.9/3 in 18-49 and 4.1 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast "Grimm" delivered a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall, growing from its first half-hour to its second in all key adult-male demos.

* At 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.1/3 in 18-49, 4.3 million viewers overall) grew from its first half-hour to its second by 20 percent in adults 18-49 (to a 1.2 rating from a 1.0), 13 percent in adults 25-54 (1.7 vs. 1.5) and 18 percent in total viewers (4.7 million vs. 4.0 million). "Dateline" built on its lead-in by 83 percent in 18-49, 60 percent in 25-54 (to a 1.6 from a 1.0) and 55 percent in total viewers.

In late-night metered-market households Friday night:

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 3.0/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.5/6 with an encore; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.2/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/5 with an encore.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.6/3 with an encore; "Nightline," 1.0/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.6/3 with an encore.

* At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.5/5 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.6/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/3).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 1.0/4 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
