"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" Encore Ties for #1 Primetime Show on Saturday Night
NBC spins the numbers for Saturday, July 21.

Saturday Primetime Results:

At 8 p.m. ET, "NBC Sports Specials: 30 Greatest NBC Olympic Moments" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 2.8 million viewers overall) tied for #1 in the time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, as well as adults 25-54. From its first half-hour to its second, "30 Greatest NBC Olympic Moments" grew by 17 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 0.7 from a 0.6) and 23 percent in total viewers (to 3.1 million from 2.5 million).

At 9 p.m. ET, an encore of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (0.6/2 in 18-49, 2.7 million viewers overall) tied for #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in the time period in adults 18-49 and tied for #1 among adults 18-34. From its first half-hour to its second, "SVU" grew by 40 percent in 18-49 (to a 0.7 rating from a 0.5) and 25 percent in total viewers (to 3.0 million from 2.4 million). .

At 10 p.m. ET, a second rebroadcast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (0.9/3 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall) is tied for the #1 18-49 primetime rating of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox with CBS's "48 Hours Mystery." In the time period, "SVU" is tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in 18-49 and is #1 outright among those networks in adults 18-34. The 10 p.m. "Law & Order: SVU" rebroadcast built on its lead-in from the prior "SVU" encore by 50 percent in 18-49 rating, 38 percent in adults 25-54 (with a 1.1 rating vs. a 0.8) and 30 percent in total viewers.

The 10 p.m. "SVU" encore captured NBC's top non-sports 18-49 and total-viewer results in the time period so far this summer.

For the night, NBC is tied for #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49.

On the Other Networks Saturday night

CBS (0.6/2) tied for the nightlong lead thanks to a win at 9 p.m. with an extra "48 Hours Mystery" (0.7/3 with an encore) and a tie for #1 at 10 with the regular "48 Hours" (0.9/3 with a repeat, tied for the #1 telecast of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox). At 8, CBS's "Crimetime" burn-off original "NYC 22" (a 0.5/2) tied for #3.

Fox (0.6/2) tied for #1 from 8-9 p.m. with "Cops" repeats (0.7/2) but faded to #4 at 9 with an encore "Mobbed" (0.5/2).

ABC (0.5/2) trailed the pack with an 8 p.m. repeat of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (0.5/2, tied for #3) and two hours of "Castle" encores (0.6/2 at 9, tied for #2 and a third-place 0.5/2 at 10).

In Late-Night Metered-Market Household Averages for Saturday night:

An encore telecast of "Saturday Night Live," with host Will Ferrell and musical guest Usher (3.1/8 in metered-market households), dominated its time period. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Saturday Night Live" averaged a 1.7 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49, making it the night's #1 program in the Local People Meters, ahead of all primetime telecasts on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox.

"Saturday Night Live" earned its highest metered-market household and Local People Meter ratings in six weeks (since June 9).
