NBC WINS TUESDAY NIGHT IN ADULTS 18-49 AND ALL OTHER KEY DEMOGRAPHICS, SCORING THE HIGHEST TUESDAY PRIMETIME 18-49 RATING FOR ANY NETWORK SO FAR THIS SEASON

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - December 9, 2009 - Last night, the finale of "The Biggest Loser" weighed in with the show's highest 18-49 rating and biggest overall viewership in four years, pacing NBC to a nightly win in adults 18-49 and all other key demographics, according to "fast affiliate-based" "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Last night from 8-10:01 p.m. ET, the finale of "The Biggest Loser" (5.0 rating, 13 share in adults 18-49, 13.4 million viewers overall) scored the series' top results in both adults 18-49 and total viewers since the finale of the show's second cycle on November 29, 2005. Versus the year-ago "Biggest Loser" finale (a 4.6/12 in 18-49 and 11.8 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008), last night's finale was up 9 percent in 18-49 rating and 13 percent or 1.6 million persons in total viewers.

"The Biggest Loser" was the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49 and won its 8-10:01 p.m. ET time period in all key demographics - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Biggest Loser" gained 41 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 5.8/15 from a 4.1/12) and added 32 percent or 3.6 million persons in total viewers (to 15.2 million from 11.5 million).

Danny Cahill, a 40-year-old land surveyor/musician and father of two from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma won "The Biggest Loser" and $250,000 on last night's live season finale. Danny lost 239 lbs. and 55.58 percent of his body weight to claim the prize. He started the show at 430 lbs. and ended weighing just 191 lbs., breaking the record for the most weight lost by any contestant in the history of the show

Last night from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, "The Jay Leno Show" averaged a 2.9/8 in adults 18-49, a 3.4/9 in adults 25-54 and 8.4 million viewers overall. Last night's time period competition included encore telecasts of CBS's "The Good Wife" and ABC's "The Forgotten."

"The Jay Leno Show" won the hour in all key demographics - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

Versus Jay Leno's 2008-09 average at 11:35 p.m. ET on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," last night's telecast was up in adults 18-49 (2.9 vs. 1.4), adults 25-54 (3.4 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (8.4 million vs. 5.1 million). And Last Night's Show Was Highest Rated "Biggest Loser" Telecast In Four Years!

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - December 9, 2009 - Danny Cahill, a 40-year-old land surveyor/musician and father of two from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, won NBC's "The Biggest Loser" and $250,000 at last night's exciting live season finale of the hit series. Danny lost 239 lbs. and 55.58% of his body weight to claim the prize. He started the show at 430 lbs. and ended weighing just 191 lbs., breaking the record for the most weight lost by any contestant in the history of the show.

Danny and Rudy Pauls, a 31-year-old engineer from Brooklyn, Connecticut, were two of the finalists and America voted to determine who would be the third finalist. In the first part of the live finale, viewers learned that Amanda Arlauskas, a 20-year-old patient care technician from Butler, New Jersey had beaten Liz Young, a 49-year-old salesperson and grandmother from Chapel Hill, Tennessee, to become the third finalist. America voted Amanda into season eight during the season seven finale.

The runner up among the three finalists was Rudy, who began the show at 442 lbs. and weighed 208 lbs. at the finale. He lost 234 lbs. and 52.94% of his body weight. Coming in third place was Amanda, who lost 87 lbs. and 34.80% of her body weight. She began the show at 250 lbs. and weighed 163 lbs. at finale.

The winner of this season's $100,000 "at home" prize among eliminated contestants went to Rebecca Meyer, a 25-year-old student/nanny from Des Moines, Iowa. She started the show weighing 279 lbs. and ended at 140 lbs. She lost 139 lbs. and 49.82% of her body weight.

It was also a night of big surprises, starting with contestant Antoine Dove surprising fellow contestant Alexandra White with a marriage proposal. The two met on "The Biggest Loser" and began dating shortly after both were eliminated and left the ranch. They are the third couple who fell in love on the show and decided to marry, following season two's Matt Hoover and Suzy Preston, and season three's Marty Wolff and Amy Hildreth.

Also in last night's finale, one contestant got the offer of a lifetime from Subway, a longtime sponsor of "The Biggest Loser." Subway offered contestant Shay Sorrells $1,000 for every pound she loses between now and the season nine finale in May, 2010. Shay, a 30-year-old social worker from Newport Beach, CA, began the season as the heaviest contestant ever in "Biggest Loser" history, weighing 476 lbs. She went on to lose 172 lbs. and 36.13% of her body weight, and now weighs 304 lbs.

From 8-10:01 p.m. ET, the finale of "The Biggest Loser" (5.0 rating, 13 share in adults 18-49 and 13.4 million viewers overall) scored the show's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in four years, since the finale of the second cycle on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005. "The Biggest Loser" was the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49 and won its 8-10:01 p.m. time period in every key demographic -- adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54.

Season nine of "The Biggest Loser" will premiere on Tuesday, January 5 (8-10 p.m. ET). For the new season, NBC's "The Biggest Loser" is partnering with General Mills, Feeding America, Subway and 24 Hour Fitness on the Pound For Pound Challenge, which began in season seven of the show. Viewers can go to www.biggestloser.com now and for every pound of weight loss pledged, a pound of groceries will be delivered to a local food bank. Over 3.5 million pounds of groceries have been delivered to local food banks as a result of this program. And the need has never been greater, as one in six Americans may not always have access to the food they need and 49 million Americans now struggle with hunger. The Pound For Pound Challenge allows viewers to help themselves get healthy while helping to fight hunger in their own communities.

"The Biggest Loser" is a production of Reveille LLC, 25/7 Productions and 3Ball Productions. Ben Silverman (NBC's "The Office," "Ugly Betty"), Dave Broome ("A Model Life with Petra Nemcova," "Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope"), JD Roth ("Age of Love," "Beauty and the Geek"), Todd A. Nelson ("Unan1mous," "Beauty and the Geek") and Mark Koops ("Breakthrough With Tony Robbins," "Shear Genius") serve as executive producers.
