WEEK No. 16:

Rankings: ABC placed 5 of the week's Top 20 TV programs in Adults 18-49, including the No. 1 unscripted scripted series with "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition": "Grey's Anatomy" No. 5, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition-1/13" No. 6, "Brothers & Sisters" No. 12, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" No. 14 and "Supernanny" No. 18. The Net put 2 shows in the week's Top 10 among Total Viewers, including most-watched unscripted series with "Home Edition": "Grey's Anatomy" No. 6 and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition-1/13" No. 10. ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" stood as the No. 1 scripted program of the week in Adults 18-34, besting Fox's NFL-boosted debut of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles." Additionally, "Grey's" was the week's No. 1 show overall across each of the key women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year to year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating trends based on the Live + Same Day data stream may be somewhat distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has nearly doubled from just over 11% at the same point in 2006, approaching 22% currently. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. Therefore, the only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
