Second Season Premiere of "CSI: NY" Tops "Invasion" In Viewers

CBS Places Second on Competitive Wednesday in Viewers and Key Demographics

CBS placed second in viewers and key demographics on an extremely competitive Wednesday behind the time period premiere of CRIMINAL MINDS and the second season premiere of CSI: NY, according to preliminary Nielsen affiliate ratings for Sept. 28.

The time period premiere of CRIMINAL MINDS posted a 7.1/11 with 10.56m viewers, 3.3/08 in adults 18-49 and 4.1/09 in adults 25-54, placing second only to "Lost." CRIMINAL MINDS increased by +18% over its YES, DEAR adults 18-49 lead-in while adding nearly two million viewers.

The program was second in households, viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, easily topping NBC's "E-Ring" by +34% in households (from 5.3/08), +39% in viewers (from 7.61m), +57% in adults 18-49 (from 2.1/05) and +58% in adults 25-54 (from 2.6/06).

At 10:00 PM, the second season premiere of CSI: NY was second in households (8.6/14), viewers (13.12m), placing ahead of "Invasion" (8.0/13, 12.97m) and slightly behind a crossover episode of "Law & Order" (9.8/16, 14.73m).

STILL STANDING at 8:00 PM posted double-digit gains week to week in households (5.7/09 from 4.7/08, +21%), viewers (8.46m from 6.91m, +22%), adults 18-49 (2.6/08 from 2.2/07, +18%) and adults 25-54 (3.1/09 from 2.6/07, +19%).

At 8:30 PM, YES DEAR was up +16% in households (5.7/09 from 4.9/08), +20% in viewers (8.61m from 7.20m), +12% in adults 18-49 (2.8/08 from 2.5/07) and +17% in adults 25-54 (3.4/08 from 2.9/07).

The time period premiere of CRIMINAL MINDS posted a 7.1/11 with 10.57m viewers, 3.3/08 in adults 18-49 and 4.1/09 in adults 25-54, placing second only to "Lost." CRIMINAL MINDS improved its YES, DEAR lead-in by +14% in adults 18-49 while adding nearly two million viewers (+1.83m).

The program was second in households, viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, easily topping NBC's "E-Ring" by +34% in households (from 5.3/08), +38% in viewers (from 7.69m), +57% in adults 18-49 (from 2.1/05) and +52% in adults 25-54 (from 2.7/06).

At 10:00 PM, the second season premiere of CSI: NY was second in households (8.7/14), viewers (13.30m), placing ahead of "Invasion" (7.7/12, 12.29m) and slightly behind a crossover episode of "Law & Order" (10.0/16, 15.06m).

STILL STANDING at 8:00 PM posted double-digit gains week to week in households (5.7/09 from 4.7/08, +21%), viewers (8.58m from 6.91m, +24%), adults 18-49 (2.7/08 from 2.2/07, +23%) and adults 25-54 (3.2/09 from 2.6/07, +23%).

At 8:30 PM, YES DEAR was up +18% in households (5.8/09 from 4.9/08), +22% in viewers (8.74m from 7.20m), +16% in adults 18-49 (2.9/08 from 2.5/07) and +17% in adults 25-54 (3.4/08 from 2.9/07).
