TNT Original INTO THE WEST Delivers More Than 21 Million Viewers, Ranks as Most Watched Program on Television for the Week

TNT Beats UPN and The WB, Tops Ad-Supported Cable for the Week Among Persons 2+, Households and Targeted Adult Demos

The first installment of TNT�s original six-week television event INTO THE WEST, from DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg, drew more than 21 million viewers over its multi-play weekend, making it television�s most watched program for the week, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. TNT�s enormous success with INTO THE WEST helped drive the network to a solid win for the week over broadcasters UPN and The WB, as well as over all ad-supported cable networks, among persons 2+, households and targeted adult demos.

�With more than 21 million viewers watching TNT�s INTO THE WEST over the weekend, our multi-play strategy is proving once again to be an enormous success,� said Steve Koonin, executive vice president and chief operating officer for TNT and sister network TBS. �Viewers looking for the very best in dramatic television from the very best talent in the industry are finding what they�re looking for on TNT.�

Ratings highlights for TNT�s INTO THE WEST:

- TNT�s original production INTO THE WEST kicked off this past weekend with six opportunities to watch. Combined, those telecasts made INTO THE WEST television�s most watched program for the week among persons 2+ (21,353,000), households (15,376,000), adults 18-49 (7,772,000) and adults 25-54 (9,825,000).

- The six-telecast gross also places INTO THE WEST ahead of all programs on NBC, UPN and The WB among persons 2+ and households for the 52-week 2004-05 season to date.

- During broadcast prime for Friday, June 10, when the first installment of INTO THE WEST premiered, TNT outperformed ABC, CBS, FOX, UPN and The WB among persons 2+, households and adults 25-54.

- The Friday premiere telecast outdelivered such recent summer broadcast premieres as ABC�s The Scholar, NBC�s Psychic Detectives, FOX�s The Inside, UPN�s Britney & Kevin: Chaotic and The WB�s Beauty & the Geek among persons 2+.

Weekly Ratings highlights for TNT:

- Within the broadcast prime daypart, TNT beat UPN and The WB for the week among adults 18-49, adults 25-54, persons 2+ and households.

- Overall in prime, TNT ranked as ad-supported cable�s #1 network for the ninth consecutive week among adults 18-49 (1,644,000), adults 25-54 (1,830,000), persons 2+ (3,751,000) and households (2,770,000).

- In total day, TNT ranked as ad-supported cable�s #1 network for the 12th consecutive week among adults 18-49 (714,000) and adults 25-54 (787,000).

- TNT�s Monday, June 6, Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and the Detroit Pistons ranked as ad-supported cable�s #1 program for the week adults 18-34 (2,741,000), adults 18-49 (5,094,000), adults 25-54 (4,848,000), persons 2+ (9,149,000) and households (6,750,000), setting a record among households as the #1 NBA Playoff game in cable history.

For the 2004-05 52-week season, the combined seven broadcast networks� household share of 44.8 is down 3 percent vs. the 2003-04 season. Ad-supported cable posted a 52.0 household share, up 4 percent vs. last season.
