Grace Van Patten stars in the project, which is based on Carola Lovering's novel.

[via press release from Hulu]

Today Hulu announced the straight to series pick up of Tell Me Lies starring Grace Van Patten based on Carola Lovering's novel.

· Hulu Orders Drama Tell Me Lies Straight-to-Series starring Grace Van Patten

· "Tell Me Lies" follows a tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of 8 years. When Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco meet at college, they are at that formative age when seemingly mundane choices lead the way to irrevocable consequences. Although their relationship begins like any typical campus romance, they quickly fall into an addictive entanglement that will permanently alter not only their lives, but the lives of everyone around them.

· Van Patten will play Lucy Albright, on the surface, a sheltered but well-adjusted girl from an affluent Long Island town. Her acerbic humor and often cool demeanor has earned her the label of "Ice Queen" among her friends. But beneath her confident façade Lucy is hiding a childhood trauma that has left her feeling disconnected from her peers. When she meets Stephen, Lucy sees a dark streak in him that she recognizes in herself, and will inadvertently bring her demons to light.

· Meaghan Oppenheimer will executive produce and write the pilot. Emma Roberts and co-founder Karah Preiss executive produce under their Belletrist banner, Laura Lewis executive produces for Rebelle Media, and Shannon Gibson executive produces for Vice Studios. Matt Matruski will oversee for Belletrist, with Stephanie Noonan overseeing for Rebelle Media and Sam Schlaifer overseeing for Vice-owned Refinery29. Adapted from Carola Lovering's novel of the same name, Lovering will serve as a consulting producer. The series comes to Hulu from 20th Television.

· Tell Me Lies is the latest drama to join Hulu's burgeoning slate of successful book adaptations such as 11/22/63, The Handmaid's Tale, Little Fires Everywhere, Normal People, and the upcoming limited series' Nine Perfect Strangers and Conversations with Friends.

· Grace Van Patten has already established herself as one of the most impressive young actresses in film, television, and on the stage. In 2017, she was named one of Variety's 10 Actors to Watch for her performance in THE MEYEROWITZ STORIES.

· Van Patten will next be seen starring in Hulu and David E. Kelley's highly anticipated limited series, Nine Perfect Strangers. The series which also stars Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy, will be release on Hulu on August 18th.

· Van Patten will also soon be seen in Karen Cinorre's independent feature MAYDAY, premiering at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, the film will be released on October 1st. The actress can be seen in features such as A VIOLENT HEART, GOOD POSTURE, TRAMPS, and UNDER THE SILVER LAKE. On stage, Van Patten starred as "Joan of Arc" in the Public Theater's critically acclaimed production of Jane Anderson's play Mother of the Maid. Other credits include The New Groups production of Whirligig and This Is Our Youth. On television she has appeared in recurring roles in Maniac, The Sopranos and guest star roles on Boardwalk Empire and Law & Order SVU.

· Grace is a graduate of LaGuardia High School of the Arts with a major in Drama.

· Van Patten is represented by WME, Brookside Artist Management, and The Lede Company. Headshot can be found HERE
