BO & CHEYENNE (NBC, New!) - Johnny Pemberton's Bo and Nichole Sakura's Cheyenne are set to be the focus of a potential "Superstore" spin-off at the network. Bridget Kyle and Vicky Luu are spearheading the project, which would see said duo looking to "balance their big dreams with the harsh realities of being a blue-collar family in America." The Spitzer Holding Company's Justin Spitzer and The District's Ruben Fleischer and David Bernad will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
BRAND NEW CHERRY FLAVOR (Netflix) - The supernatural revenge series has cast Hannah Levien as Christine; Leland Orser as Mike Nathans; and Patrick Fischler as Alvin Sender, all recurring roles. Catherine Keener, Eric Lange, Jeff Ward, Manny Jacinto and Rosa Salazar also star in the project, based on the novel by Todd Grimson. (Deadline.com)
BRIDGE, THE (Amazon, New!) - David Mandell is spearheading a limited series at the streamer based on Bill Konigsberg's YA novel about "two teenagers, strangers to each other, [who] have decided to jump from the same bridge at the same time. But what results is far from straightforward in this absorbing, honest lifesaver." PKM Productions' Patrick Moran will executive produce alongside Mandell and Konigsberg for Amazon Studios. DOPESICK (Hulu) - Michael Stuhlbarg is the latest addition to the Michael Keaton-led limited series as Richard Sackler, "the son of Purdue Pharma founder Raymond Sackler and nephew of famed medical advertising guru Arthur Sackler, Richard oversaw the development and marketing of OxyContin." GOOD GRIEF (Peacock, New!) - Heather McMahan and Jen Zaborowski have sold a new half-hour comedy to the streamer which "which follows three vibrant women (one played by McMahan) who are forced to confront a world they thought they knew after the patriarch of the affluent McDaniel family kicks the bucket. The trio take an honest and humorous look at their inner selves, no matter how absurd life can seem to be. There is only one thing they know for certain now, and that's how exhausting - and good - grief is." Annapurna Television and Universal Television are behind the project with Kathleen Jordan, Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle, Patrick Chu and Ali Krug likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
HEAD OF THE CLASS (HBO Max) - Gavin Lewis has scored a role on the reboot series pilot as Luke Burrows: "Fourteen years old, driven, ambitious, and conservative Luke already has a 10 point life plan to follow in his senator father's footsteps." (Deadline.com)
L.A. LAW (ABC, New!) - The Alphabet is developing a new incarnation of Steven Bochco's iconic 1986-1994 series with actor Blair Underwood, director Anthony Hemingway and writers Marc Guggenheim and Ubah Mohamed at the helm. Jesse Bochco and Dayna Bochco - the late Steven's son and wife - of Steven Bochco Productions are likewise behind the project, which is set up at 20th Television. Said group will executive produce alongside Simon Mirren and producer Dan Shaw. Underwood will reprise his role as Jonathan Rollins, "who has gone from idealistic to more conservative as he clashes with millennial J.J. Freeman to decide the best path forward for [McKenzie Brackman] to effect political and legal change. (Deadline.com)
LAST DAYS OF PTOLEMY GREY, THE (Apple TV+, New!) - Samuel L. Jackson is attached to star in a six-episode limited series at the streaming service about Ptolemy Grey, "a 91-year-old man forgotten by his family, by his friends, by even himself. On the brink of sinking even deeper into a lonely dementia, Ptolemy experiences a seismic shift when he's given the tremendous opportunity to briefly regain his memories, and uses this precious and fleeting lucidity to solve his nephew's death and come to terms with his past." Walter Mosley is penning the project based on his novel of the same name with Diane Houslin, David Levine and Eli Selden also executive producing for Anonymous Content and Apple Studios. LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE (New!) - Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content are reportedly developing a reboot of the Laura Ingalls Wilder auto-biographical novels-turned-TV series. No other specifics were given other than Trip Friendly is expected to serve as an executive producer. (EW.com)
LITTLE SHELLS (CBS, New!) - Writer Brian Donovan and director Todd Holland are set to team for a hybrid comedy at the Eye about "a 20-something agoraphobe who discovers an oddball friendship with the spunky, under-achieving kid next door. Not only do the two help slay each other's demons, but they create a charmingly unconventional chosen family in the process." Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor of Kapital Entertainment will also executive produce for CBS Studios. (Deadline.com)
PEACEMAKER (HBO Max) - "The Suicide Squad" spin-off TV series has cast Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn; Lochlyn Munro as Larry Fitzgibbon; Annie Chang as Detective Sophie Song; and Christopher Heyerdahl as Captain Locke. Fitzgibbon is "the head doctor at Belle Reve penitentiary in DC Comics lore and he's an aide to government official Amanda Waller who assembles the Suicide Squad (played by Viola Davis in the movie)." No specifics were given about the other roles. (Deadline.com)
PINE VALLEY (ABC, New!) - "All My Children" alums Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are looking to bring a primetime version of beloved daytime drama to the Alphabet, in which "a young journalist with a secret agenda comes to expose the dark and murderous history of a town named Pine Valley only to become entangled in a feud between the Kane and Santos families. The series explores all the secrets that come with the Kane and Santos family names." Leo Richardson is penning said take for ABC Signature with Ripa, Consuelos, Milojo Productions' Albert Bianchini, Andrew Stearn Productions' Andrew Stearn, and Robert Nixon (son of the late creator Agnes Nixon) also set to executive produce. No deals are in place with original cast members at this point however "a number of them" are expected to make an appearance. (Deadline.com)
RED BIRD LANE (HBO Max) - The Susan Sarandon-led psychological horror series pilot has cast Crispin Glover as Jonah, "a bad man who arrives at the mysterious house in the center of the thriller for money"; James Urbaniak as Tanner, "a charming and arrogant character who also arrives to the Red Bird Lane house for unspeakable reasons"; Jamie Clayton as "the sarcastic, hard-edged but charming Jessica comes to the mysterious residence for fraud"; Rya Kihlstedt as Eloise, "the show's blunt yet enigmatic house guest who arrives for a dinner party"; Grantham Coleman as "the intelligent, handsome but cruel Sigmund"; and Damon Dayoub as Ian Goodman, "a handsome philosophy professor." SUPERMAN & LOIS (The CW) - Adam Rayner is joining the cast of the DC Comics series as Morgan Edge, "an intelligent, eloquent and impassioned self-made mogul who's innate ability to motivate is the means to his success and others' demise." He succeeds Adrian Pasdar, who originated the role on "Supergirl." (Deadline.com)
WOMEN OF THE MOVEMENT (ABC) - Ray Fisher has signed onto the limited series as Gene Mobley, "the man who would have been Emmett Till's stepfather, if not for his murder. A devoted partner to Emmett's mother, Mamie, Gene was considered the love of her life. They later married." (Deadline.com)
