AMERICAN HORROR STORY (FX) - Macaulay Culkin will join Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross and Finn Wittrock in the franchise's 10th installment. (@mrrpmurphy)
BIG SKY, THE (ABC) - Ryan Phillippe has scored a role on the straight-to-series drama as Cody Hoyt, "a well-meaning ex-cop turned private investigator working at his Helena, Montana, firm. Married to but separated from fellow ex-cop, Jenny Hoyt, his life becomes complicated when he's asked to help find his son's missing girlfriend." (Deadline.com)
BILLIONS (Showtime) - Rick Hoffman is slated to recur on the new season as Dr. Swerdlow, "a medical man with unorthodox methods." (Deadline.com)
CLARICE (CBS) - Rebecca Breeds has scored the role of Clarice Starling in the network's small screen take on the famous Thomas Harris character. The project's logline: "It's 1993, a year after the events of "The Silence of the Lambs." CLARICE is a deep dive into the untold personal story of Clarice Starling as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C." Jodie Foster and Julianne Moore both played the role in feature adaptations. (Deadline.com)
CREEPSHOW (Shudder) - Season one of the anthology series will get a linear debut on AMC ahead of the digital launch of the show's second season on streaming service. (Deadline.com)
DAWN (Amazon, New!) - Writer/director Victoria Mahoney is looking to bring Octavia E. Butler's Hugo Award winning sci-fi novel to the small screen at the streaming service. The project "tells the story of a black woman who works with aliens to resurrect the human race 250 years after a nuclear war." Array Filmworks' Ava DuVernay and Macro Television Studios' Charles D. King are executive producing alongside Mahoney, Allen Bain, Gary Pearl and Thomas L. Carter for Amazon Studios. (Deadline.com)
HOW TO MAKE LOVE TO A BLACK WOMAN (Showtime) - The pay channel has passed on the Lena Waithe-produced comedy anthology pilot. (Deadline.com)
KUNG FU (The CW) - Olivia Liang has landed the lead role on the reboot series pilot, in which "a quarter-life crisis causes a young Chinese-American woman, Nicky Chen (Liang), to drop out of college and go on a life-changing journey to an isolated monastery in China. But when she returns to find her hometown overrun with crime and corruption, she uses her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice - all while searching for the assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her." LA BREA (NBC) - Natalie Zea has booked a principal role on the drama pilot, in which "when a massive sinkhole mysteriously opens in Los Angeles, it tears a family in half, separating mother (Zea) and son from father (Michael Raymond-James) and daughter (Zyra Gorecki). When part of the family find themselves in an unexplainable primeval world alongside a disparate group of strangers, they must work to survive and uncover the mystery of where they are and if there is a way back home." Zea's Claire Wolcott is "a busy working mom who's sometimes a little overprotective and just trying to hold it all together." (Deadline.com)
LOST BOYS, THE (The CW) - Branden Cook, Lincoln Younes and Ruby Cruz are the first to be cast in the revised pilot. Cook plays Garrett, "the older of the two brothers who have moved with their mom to the North Carolina seaside community"; with Younes as Benjamin, "the charismatic leader of the gang of vampires in the town"; and Cruz as Elsie, "who sparks with the new guy in town, Garrett." Said roles were originated on the big screen by Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland and Jami Gertz, respectively. (Deadline.com)
OUTER RANGE (Amazon) - Josh Brolin is set to star in and executive produce the drama series, which centers on Royal Abbott (Brolin), "a Wyoming rancher struggling to hold on to his family and way of life, who must grapple with the Unknown after discovering an unfathomable mystery on his land." SEVERANCE (Apple TV+) - Tramell Tillman is the latest addition to the upcoming Adam Scott/Patricia Arquette-led drama as Milchick, "an intensely earnest employee at the company." (Deadline.com)
VALLEY TRASH (ABC) - Jason Lee is set to star in the proposed single-camera comedy, about The Harmans, "a scrappy, blue collar family living in the deep Valley who suddenly experience a major culture clash when their fourteen-year-old daughter, Abby, gets accepted to a prestigious LA private high school filled with students and parents who want nothing to do with her, her family or their 818 area code." The project, which has been ordered to pilot, will feature Lee as Cal, "a hard-working low-rent lawyer (the kind with his face on bus benches), who is basically a modern day Atticus Finch for people who can't afford a lawyer. He is Southern, charming, rough around the edges and does everything for his wife Jules and two kids, Abby and Benji." Universal Television and 20th Century Fox Television are behind the project, from writer Niki Schwartz-Wright and fellow executive producers Nahnatchka Khan and Jen Carreras. Lee will also receive a producing credit. (Deadline.com)
