AGUA DONKEYS (Quibi, New!) - MP Cunningham and Jeremy Jackson have set up a scripted comedy at the streaming service about MP (Cunningham) and Jer (Jackson), "employees at a pool cleaning company called Agua Donkeys. The duo chasing the perfect tan, the perfect vibe and the perfect mix of bromine and chlorine to service some of the "sickest" backyard pools in their Utah hometown." The project, inspired by the short film of the same name, also stars Baby Darrington, "who plays their co-worker and mutual crush"; and Luke Jackson, "who plays the owner of the titular pool company." Cunningham will direct the series which he co-created and co-wrote with Jackson while Joe Farrell, Mike Farah, Greg Walter, Luke Maxwell and Jim Ziegler also serve as executive producers for Funny or Die and 3 Arts Entertainment. Co-executive producers are Adrien Finkel and Charles Forsgren while Kourtney Gleason and Tim Rowberry serve as producers. (Deadline.com)

DIRTY JOHN (USA) - The anthology's Amanda Peet/Christian Slater-led sophomore season has cast Rachel Keller as Linda Kolkena, "a bright, beautiful, capable young receptionist who Dan hires to lighten his workload"; Emily Bergl as Marie Stewart, "one of Betty's only divorced friends"; Lena Georgas as Janet Ravis, "a funny, adventurous mother and widow who encourages Betty to find joy and purpose in life both before and after her split from Dan"; with Tiera Skovbye and Chris Mason as "Betty (Peet) and Dan (Slater) during the early years of their courtship and marriage on the east coast." FAMILYSHIP (FOX, New!) - Jon Harmon Feldman has sold a potential drama to the network billed as "a soapy, character-based dramedy about a sprawling, multi-ethnic clan, that like many 21st Century families, was formed in the wake of divorce and remarriage and navigates conflict, complications and, above all, love in its own unique way." ABC Studios is behind the project, which has a penalty attached. Feldman and Jennifer Gwartz then will executive produce via their Random Hill Productions banner. (Deadline.com)
FLIGHT ATTENDANT, THE (HBO Max) - Griffin Matthews is the latest to be cast in the upcoming thriller as Shane Evans, "Cassie's flight attendant "work friend" and fellow nightlife compatriot. Their friendship is put to the test when Cassie's life begins to unravel." (Deadline.com)
FRIENDS AND FAMILY (NBC, New!) - Shawn Wines has scored a put pilot commitment from the network for a new comedy about "a group of twentysomething friends in San Francisco question what they really want out of life as they try to hold on to their carefree lives while facing the next phase of adulthood." Electric Avenue's Will Arnett and Marc Forman; and Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
GHOST (ABC, New!) - Justin Britt-Gibson has sold a new drama to the Alphabet which follows Elton Cleaver, "a once-celebrated CIA officer who was betrayed and left for dead by a shadowy organization embedded within the Agency. Living under a new identity, Cleaver now uses his skills to protect everyday people from threats beyond the law's reach." Warner Bros. Television-based Quinn's House is behind the hour with the company's Martin Gero also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
GOOD LORD BIRD, THE (Showtime) - Rafael Casal is bound for the series in the recurring role of Cook, "one of John Brown's new recruits, a rascally, privileged adventurer who thinks Brown's plan is crazy but proclaims it sounds fun." (Deadline.com)
GROWN-ISH (Freeform) - The show's upcoming third season has cast Henri Esteve as Javier, "a gorgeous grad student whom Ana (Francia Raisa) interns with at Cal U"; Raigan Harris as Rochelle, "an opinionated, well-informed Cal U senior and member of the Black Student Union who's always down to fight for a cause"; and Andrew Liner as Rodney, "a soft-spoken, baby-faced babe with a killer smile that belies a quiet confidence and self-assured swagger." INTO THE DARK (Hulu) - The horror franchise's December 27 installment, titled "Midnight Kiss," will feature Augustus Prew, Scott Evans, Ayden Mayeri, Lukas Gage, Chester Lockhart and Adam Faison. Carter Smith is directing from a script by Erlingur Thoroddsen. The episode "follows a group of longtime gay best friends and their resident fruit fly as they head to a beautiful desert home to celebrate New Year's Eve. One of their annual traditions is to play a game called Midnight Kiss, a sexy but ultimately dangerous challenge to find that special someone to help you ring in the New Year. As friendships have grown strained with secrets, jealousy and resentment, the group faces another challenge when a sadistic killer wants in on the game. Relationships are put to the test and truths are revealed as the night turns into a fight for survival." (Deadline.com)
JUPITER'S LEGACY (Netflix) - Sang Kim has been tapped as the new showrunner of the upcoming series. He replaces Steven S. DeKnight, who stepped down over creative differences. (Deadline.com)
LEGACIES (The CW) - Chris Lee's Kaleb, "a rebel vampire who isn't keen on hiding who he is," has been promoted to regular while Olivia Liang is set to recur as Alyssa Chang, "a Salvatore School student witch and infamous instigator of drama among her peers." (Deadline.com)
MONSTERLAND (A.K.A. UNTITLED MARY LAWS PROJECT) (Hulu) - Kaitlyn Dever and Jonathan Tucker are the first to be cast in the anthology series, based on the short stories from Nathan Ballingrud's collection. Dever will portray Toni, "a struggling waitress and overwhelmed mother to a deeply troubled little girl. At just 19, Toni is already world-weary. Making do in nowhere Louisiana without family, money or the hope of something better, Toni's life is a long, dark highway with no exit in sight. But when she meets Alex - played by Tucker, who can be seen in the new Charlie's Angels - Toni is forced to decide just how far she's willing to go to change her reality." Mary Laws; Under the Shadow's Lucan Toh and Babak Anvari; and Annapurna's Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle are the executive producers with Ali Krug as a co-executive producer. (THR.com)
QUANTUM SPY, THE (NBC, New!) - Dave Kalstein has sold a new drama to the network based on the David Ignatius novel of the same name, about Harris Chang, "a newly promoted Chinese-American CIA officer. After America's top-secret quantum research lab is compromised, he's tasked with finding the traitor and ends up in the middle of a global conspiracy that leads him to uncover dark secrets from his own past." Boies/Schiller Film Group's Zack Schiller and David Boies; Anonymous Content's Alex Goldstone; and Flame Ventures' Tony Krantz also executive produce for Universal Television with Ignatius serving as a co-executive producer. SNOWPIERCER (TNT) - Tom Lipinski will recur on the show's second season as Kevin: "an officious member of Hospitality, Kevin is priggish and deferential to a fault, lauding his boss and adhering to his strict sense of the rules. SUPERSTORE (NBC) - Dean Norris has been cast as Howard Fox, the estranged father of Lauren Ash's Dina, in an upcoming episode. (TVLine.com)
UNTITLED HALO PROJECT (Showtime) - Danny Sapani, Olive Gray and Charlie Murphy are all bound for the much-ballyhooed drama. Sapani will play Captain Jacob Keyes, "a dedicated military man, a war hero and a caring father. He finds that working alongside his daughter and his ex-wife is usually the cause of conflict rather than comfort." Gray then is Dr. Miranda Keyes,"a brilliant UNSC Commander who is dedicated to understanding the technology, language and culture of the Covenant, but she'll have to learn to navigate the politics of the UNSC to get what she wants." And Murphy is Makee, "an orphaned human who was raised by the alien Covenant and shares their contempt for humanity." (Deadline.com)
