AFFAIR, THE (Showtime) - Michael Braun has scored a role on the show's final season as EJ, "an epigenetic scientist that Joanie (Anna Paquin) meets in Montauk. His work in studying generational trauma helps Joanie understand her life in a way she never has before." (Deadline.com)
END, THE (Amazon, New!) - Indian actor Akshay Kumar is to star in a new drama series at the streaming service. Kumar's Abundantia Entertainment is behind the project, no details of which were given. (Deadline.com)
EVIL (CBS) - Aasif Mandvi is bound for the Katja Herbers/Mike Colter-led drama pilot as Ben, "a carpenter who was recruited for David's (Colter) team early on, Ben has a deep skepticism about all things supernatural. He is a genius at uncovering the organic reasons behind reported "hauntings," but there may be things outside his understanding that will rattle his belief system." (Deadline.com)
FEAR THE WALKING DEAD (AMC) - Karen David is joining the new season as Grace, a yet-to-be-revealed series regular. (Deadline.com)

HARLOTS (Hulu) - Alex Sawyer is bound for the show's third season as Jack Lively, "the star of North's boxing-tour. He was a dolly-boy (a child-servant) in a rich man's house until he was thirteen, acting as a playmate for a white family's children. Ever since, Jack's gone from job to job, that is until North (Danny Sapani) spotted his fighting potential." (Deadline.com)
HYPNOTIST'S LOVE STORY, THE (ABC) - "Designated Survivor" co-star Adan Canto has scored a lead role on the drama pilot as Patrick, "a devoted single father, warm, romantic, and charismatic - quite possibly the one Ellen's been waiting for. But he also lives with a secret... the existence of a stalker who has been following him for years. Patrick longs for his relationship with Ellen to work, but fears this new relationship can't withstand the pressure of the unseen woman who is always out there, always watching." Said role is in first position to the ABC-turned-Netflix drama. (Deadline.com)
IT'S A MAN'S WORLD (YouTube) - Sean Kleier and Greg Keller have both joined the Erin Darke-led comedy pilot as Ben, Emma's little brother; and Oscar, Emma's husband, respectively. (Deadline.com)
LINCOLN (NBC) - "Proven Innocent" co-star Russell Hornsby has scored the title role of Jeffery Deaver's literary hero on the drama pilot, which follows "legendary forensic criminologist Lincoln Rhyme (Hornsby), who was seriously injured during his hunt for the diabolic serial killer known as the Bone Collector." Hornsby's involvement is in second position to the FOX drama. (Deadline.com)
PRISM (NBC) - Sara Rue has booked a role on the "Rashomon"-inspired drama pilot as Alexis Boden: "She's ambitious and views the trial as her Serial opportunity." (Deadline.com)
PRODIGAL SON (FOX) - Michael Sheen has joined the cast of the drama pilot, about Malcolm Bright, who has a gift. He knows how killers think, how their minds work. Why? His father was one of the worst -- a notorious serial killer called "The Surgeon." That's why Bright is the best criminal psychologist around; murder is the family business. He will use his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with a manipulative mother, annoyingly normal sister, a homicidal father still looking to bond with his prodigal son, and his own constantly evolving neuroses. He'll play said father, Martin Whitly. (Deadline.com)
REPUBLIC OF SARAH, THE (CBS) - Sarah Drew has been tapped for the title role on the drama pilot, about "a small New Hampshire town that is thrust onto the world stage when the discovery of a valuable resource within its borders compels the residents to declare themselves an independent nation, thus setting the unlikely young mayor, Sarah Cooper (Drew) and her cabinet of inexperienced locals on the path of running a brand-new country." Additionally, Marc Webb has been confirmed as directing. (Deadline.com)
RICHARD LOVELY (FOX) - Nicole Sun has scored a role on the single-camera comedy pilot as Lindsay, "Richard's kind, beautiful neighbor. She's a newly divorced mom still adjusting to life as a single parent." (Variety.com)
SAY NOTHING (FX, New!) - Patrick Radden Keefe's book, subtitled "A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland," is being developed as a limited series at the cable channel. The book "tells the story of a notorious abduction and murder in the height of Northern Ireland's sectarian conflict and the decades of fallout that followed." Color Force's Brad Simpson and Nina Jacobson will serve as executive producers along with Keefe. The search is underway for a writer. (THR.com)
UNICORN, THE (CBS) - Walton Goggins has scored the title role on the comedy pilot, about Brady, "a recent widower who is eager to move on from the most difficult year of his life, only to realize he's utterly unprepared to raise his two daughters on his own and equally unprepared for the dating world - where, to his shock, he's suddenly a hot commodity." Additionally, the project will return to a single-camera format. James Burrows was previously attached for the multi-camera incarnation. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED NYPD BLUE SPIN-OFF PROJECT (ABC) - Sofia Barclay is the latest addition to the sequel series pilot as Adela Zal, a yet-to-be-detailed character. (Deadline.com)
WOMAN UP (ABC) - Leon Thomas has snagged a role on the Mary Elizabeth Ellis/Tawny Newsome-led comedy pilot as Jeff, "Phoebee and Liz's younger neighbor in their apartment building." (Deadline.com)
WU-TANG: AN AMERICAN SAGA (Hulu) - Julian Elijah Martinez, Dave East and Vinnie Pastore are all bound for the upcoming drama, which will explore and expand the world of the Wu-Tang clan. They'll play Mitchell "Divine" Diggs, Shotgun and Larry, respectively. Additionally, Craig Zisk will direct two episodes of the series and co-executive produce. (Deadline.com)
YOU (Netflix) - Chris D'Elia is the latest slated to recur on the new season as Henderson, "a designer-hoodie, black Ray-Bans, expensive sneakers-wearing famous comedian with a "hard-life-lessons man-of-the-people" thing working for him." (Deadline.com)
