ABSENTIA (Amazon) - Samantha Corbin-Miller has been tapped as showrunner for a potential second season of the Stana Katic-led drama. She'd take over said duties from original co-creator Matt Cirulnick. (Deadline.com)
BELLEVUE (NBC) - Jocko Sims ("The Last Ship") is the latest addition to the medical drama pilot, set at the mighty Manhattan institution, as Floyd Pearson, "an intelligent, virtuous and honest to a fault attending cardiac surgeon. A graduate of Yale who came from humble beginnings, Pearson loves his work but still carries a chip on his shoulder for having to work twice as hard to get there." It's understood his casting is in first position to the TNT drama. (Deadline.com)
BLOOD & TREASURE (CBS) - Katia Winter, Michael James Shaw and James Callis are set to star in the upcoming drama, which centers on a brilliant antiquities expert and a cunning art thief who team up to catch a ruthless terrorist who funds his attacks through stolen treasure. Winter will play Gwen, "a smart, tough and no nonsense Interpol investigator specializing in the dark and dangerous world of blood antiquities." Shaw then will portray Shaw, "a ruthless and charismatic arms dealer-who harbors a deep secret"; with Callis as Hardwick, "a refined and roguish antiques broker. He has spent years walking between the worlds of wealthy oligarchs and thugs as a middleman, enabling billions in looted art to change hands, making it all appear legal, and enriching himself in the process." BOBBY BROWN STORY, THE (BET) - Gabrielle Dennis has been tapped to play Whitney Houston in the upcoming Woody McClain-led mini-series. (Deadline.com)
CENTRAL PARK (Apple, New!) - Loren Bouchard and Nora Smith ("Bob's Burgers") are set to team with actor-writer Josh Gad for an animated musical comedy at the company, which "tells the story of a how a family of caretakers, who live and work in Central Park, end up saving the park, and basically the world." The project, from 20th Century Fox TV and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, has already received a two-season, 26-episode straight-to-series order with Gad, Leslie Odom Jr., Titus Burgess, Kristen Bell, Stanley Tucci, Daveed Diggs and Kathryn Hahn set as the principal voice cast. Bouchard and Gad are the executive producers with Smith serving as consulting producer and Kevin Larsen as a producer. (Deadline.com)
CHARMED (The CW) - Charlie Gillespie and Ellen Tamaki are the latest bound for the potential reboot as Brian, "Madison's (Sarah Jeffery) high school boyfriend who still carries a torch for her"; and Nico, "a detective on the Hilltowne police force whose romantic relationship with one of the sisters complicates her investigation," respectively. FAM (CBS) - Nina Dobrev ("The Vampire Diaries") has signed on to star in the multi-camera comedy pilot as Clem, "grounded, deeply funny, quick-witted and outspoken. She was a bit of a hot mess in her younger years, but since then, she has worked hard to create the best version of herself and her life is on track. She is a real charmer who is ecstatic when Jay, the love of her life, proposes. In the "best version of herself," she claims that her own father is long dead, but the fact is that her dad, Freddy Banks, whom she hasn't seen in 10 years, is such an embarrassment that she has lied about his death. And when her half-sister Shannon shows up unexpectedly, Clem's lie is about to become painfully obvious to everyone who trusted and believed her. And that lie just might end her relationship with Jay for good." (Deadline.com)
FIX, THE (ABC) - Robin Tunney and Adam Rayner has booked the lead roles on the drama pilot, about Maya Travis (Tunney), a prosecutor who lost the trial of the century and was shredded by the media in the process, only to have the murderer strike again eight years later. Rayner then is set as Andre Collier, "who was Maya's second chair during the Sevvy Johnson trial. There is an undeniable charge between Andre and Maya. When Maya left town after the trial, Andre remained on the job and got married. However, when Sevvy's girlfriend is found murdered, Andre pays Maya a visit, and asks her to return." (Deadline.com)
HALF-EMPTY (Amazon, New!) - Cazzie David, daughter of Larry David, has sold a potential comedy series to the streaming service which "follows a sardonic girl in her final year of college whose overactive imagination leads to catastrophic thinking and hilarious mishaps." Annapurna TV and Endeavor Content are behind the project, which was written on spec by David and Elisa Kalani. Sarah Heyward will also executive produce alongside said duo and Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle. (THR.com)
IN THE DARK (The CW) - Austin Nichols is set to star opposite Perry Mattfeld in the drama pilot as Dean, "a salt-of-the-earth cop, he's called in to investigate when Murphy (Mattfeld) claims she has discovered Tyson's dead body in an alley. He's put on the case because he has a blind daughter, and it's thought that he may be sensitive to Murphy's situation. He also initially thinks that Murphy's claim was the result of a drunken delusion. But as Murphy cleans up her act and presses the police to investigate, Dean begins to lend credence to her claims." (Deadline.com)
INFAMY (FOX) - Rachelle Lefevre and Vincent Kartheiser have both scored roles on the pilot, a legal drama set in an wrongful conviction firm. Led by a fierce and fearless female lawyer with a hunger for justice, the team reopens investigations, putting their own lives in danger to exonerate the innocent that were "proven" guilty. She'll play said woman, Madeline Scott, whose "motivation comes from her infamous past; as a young adult she was found guilty and later exonerated in a high-profile case in which she became a tabloid sensation, household name and national celebrity. While a hero and a victim to some, her bold and bullish tactics garner her some enemies- one of whom will do anything to see her go down for a crime we know she did not commit." Kartheiser then is set as Bodie Quick, "the intrepid, scrappy and endearing investigator for the wrongful-conviction firm." (Deadline.com)
MAN OF THE HOUSE (ABC) - Leslie Bibb and director Richie Keen have both signed onto the Alyson Hannigan-led comedy pilot, about a teenage star quarterback who finds himself unexpectedly the only male in a house full of females when his recently-divorced mother moves in with her recently-divorced sister and their daughters. She'll play Charli, "a beautiful, narcissistic, possibly sociopathic man-eater who wakes up every morning looking for a fight because it's the only thing that makes her feel alive. Despite her toughness and bravado, Charli's surprisingly vulnerable underneath. She didn't get the courage to leave her cheating husband until she saw her sister, Jessie, going through her own divorce. Even though Charli has dominated her sister their entire life, Jessie is actually her rock." (Deadline.com)
MAN VS. ROBOT (FOX) - Dermot O'Leary has been revealed as host of the potential competition series, in which "four teams take on the robots in a battle for supremacy." Tuesday's Child is producing. (Deadline.com)
MIXTAPE (FOX) - Megan Ferguson has snagged a role on the pilot, a romantic musical drama that looks at a disparate group of interconnected people in contemporary Los Angeles through the lens of the music that defines who they are. She's set as Gigi Dumont, "Nellie's (Callie Hernandez) best friend." (Deadline.com)
ROSWELL (The CW) - Trevor St. John ("Containment") is the latest to board the netlet's reboot of the series as Master Sgt. Jesse Manes: "Stubborn and set in his ways, Sgt. Manes inherited a military legacy of the alien cover up, but now plans to eliminate them entirely." (Deadline.com)
SKINNY DIP (The CW) - Sarah Wright Olsen has booked a lead role on the drama pilot, based on the novel by Carl Hiaasen. Olsen will play Joey Perrone, "who lives off of a substantial trust fund from her deceased parents and a huge life insurance policy from her deceased former fiancé, has money but not much else. She's smart, funny and married to a charming yet shallow husband named Chaz (Ben Aldridge). While on what she thinks is a romantic anniversary cruise, Chaz throws her overboard. She miraculously survives the ordeal and is saved by Mick (Matt Barr), a former detective now living alone on a desert island. Joey doesn't want Chaz to know she's alive until she finds out the motive behind his nefarious deed ... and she can plot her revenge." (THR.com)
STEPS (ABC) - Kyle Bornheimer has been tapped as the lead opposite Ginnifer Goodwin in the single-camera comedy pilot, based on the Swedish format "Bonus Family," about four adults in three houses raising three kids after two divorces - together. He will play Paul, "a conflict-averse romantic with a quick wit who is newly married to the free spirit Bea (Goodwin). Paul is eager to be free from his bully of an ex-wife and to start parenting and living, his own way." (Deadline.com)
THREE RIVERS (ABC) - Shakira Barrera is the latest bound for the single-camera comedy pilot, about Rebecca (Annaleigh Ashford), who left her family's Texas ranch years ago to work at an upscale hotel in New York, but after being promised ownership of the ranch by her smooth-talking cowboy dad Beau (John Larroquette), she's back and ready to utilize her big city tactics to turn their rustic ranch into a destination spot oozing Southern hospitality. She's set as Lucy, "the surprise guest at the ranch and the half sibling to Rebecca, Leanne and Roy." (Deadline.com)
UNDOING, THE (HBO, New!) - "Big Little Lies" star Nicole Kidman and writer David E. Kelley are set to re-team for a new limited series at the pay channel based on Jean Hanff Korelitz's book "You Should Have Known." Kidman will star as Grace Sachs, "a successful therapist on the brink of publishing her first book, [who] has a devoted husband and young son who attends an elite private school in New York City. Weeks before her book is published, a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing husband, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only a chain of terrible revelations." Executive producing are David E. Kelley Productions' Kelley; Blossom Films' Kidman and Per Saari; and Made Up Stories' Bruna Papandrea. (Deadline.com)
