ALEX, INC. (ABC) - Sophia Bush will drop by the newcomer as Vanessa Stanhope, "a well-known radio host who spars with Alex (Zach Braff), who left his radio job to start a podcasting company"; while Matt Walsh will also visit as Detective Phipps, "who has valuable information about an unsolved case that's been a thorn in the side for Rooni (Tiya Sircar), Alex's attorney wife." BAD MOMS (FOX, New!) - STX Entertainment's film franchise is being eyed as an unscripted series which "will take the films' premise of imperfect parents and shift the focus to real-life moms." Jason Goldberg and Brant Pinvidic are the executive producers. (THR.com)
BELLEVUE (NBC) - Freema Agyeman and Anupam Kher are the first to be cast in the drama pilot, set at New York City's Bellevue Hospital. Agyeman will play Hana Sharpe, "the lead doctor at the hospital who has not practiced medicine in a while. Rather, she appears on talk shows across the country pitching Bellevue hospital." Kher then is set as Anil Kapoor, "one of the oldest doctors at the hospital. He believes the hospital needs to change but does not feel he needs to change his ways." (Deadline.com)
CAMPING (HBO, New!) - Jennifer Garner ("Alias") is attached to star in a new comedy at the pay channel based on Julia Davis's U.K. series. Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner are spearheading the eight-episode series, about Walt, "whose 45th birthday was supposed to be a delightful weekend back to nature, at least according to his obsessively organized and aggressively controlling wife Kathryn (Garner). But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn's meek sister, holier than thou ex-best friend and a free-spirited Tagalong in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won't soon be forgotten. Plus, bears." Ilene S. Landress, Baby Cow Productions' Christine Langan and A Casual Romance's Dunham and Conner are the executive producers. Production begins this spring in Los Angeles. CODE, THE (CBS) - Director Marc Webb will reunite with "Limitless" creator Craig Sweeny on the drama pilot, about the military's brightest minds taking on our country's toughest challenges - inside the courtroom and out - where each attorney is trained as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, an investigator - and a Marine. He'll also serve as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
FEED, THE (Amazon, New!) - Nick Clark Windo's dystopian novel is set to be the focus of a 10-episode series at the streaming service. The project, from Channing Powell ("The Walking Dead"), "is set in a near-future world where people can download a social media feed directly into their brains and follows a couple who find their six-year-old daughter missing after the 'Feed' goes down and society crumbles." Studio Lambert's Stephen Lambert and Susan Hogg also serve as executive producers with Carl Tibbetts as the lead director for Liberty Global. (Deadline.com)
FOR THE PEOPLE (ABC) - Thomas Lennon will visit the upcoming legal drama as "a self-made New York vigilante in the sixth episode." (Variety.com)
HANNA (Amazon) - Mireille Enos, Joel Kinnaman and Esme Creed-Miles have all been cast in the feature-turned-TV series, which follows the journey of an extraordinary young girl, Hanna (Creed-Miles here, Saoirse Ronan in the film), as she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is. Enos plays Marissa, "an efficient and ruthless agent who has risen up the ranks of the CIA"; with Kinnaman as Erik, "a hardened, intuitive and uncompromising soldier and mercenary, who has raised his daughter in the remote forests of northern Poland for the past 15 years." Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana filled said roles in the feature. Sarah Adina Smith is directing from a script by David Farr, one of the original's screenwriters. Production begins next month across Hungary, Slovakia, Spain and the U.K. Working Title Television's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner have also been confirmed as executive producers, as are JoAnn Alfano, Andrew Woodhead, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements. Tom Coan serves as co-executive producer and Hugh Warren is producing. (Deadline.com)
HOW MAY WE HATE YOU (ABC) - Justin Noble's single-camera comedy - about two inseparable guest-services associates at a high-end resort property and the co-workers and hotel guests that they're stuck with for eight to 16 hours a day - has been ordered to pilot by the network. ABC Studios will now co-produce the half-hour alongside CBS TV Studios. Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Dana Honor are the executive producers with Noble as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
LITTLE AMERICA (Apple, New!) - Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon (The Big Sick) are set to team with Lee Eisenberg for a half-hour anthology series based on the true stories featured in Epic Magazine which "will go beyond the headlines to look at the funny, romantic, heartfelt, inspiring and unexpected lives of immigrants in America, at a time when their stories are more relevant than ever." Alan Yang is also on board to executive produce alongside Epic Magazine's Joshuah Bearman and Joshua Davis for Universal Television. Arthur Spector will co-executive produce. (Deadline.com)
MIXTAPE (FOX) - Jesse Peretz ("GLOW") has been tapped to helm the pilot, a romantic musical drama that looks at a disparate group of interconnected people in contemporary Los Angeles through the lens of the music that defines who they are. (Deadline.com)
PASSAGE, THE (FOX) - The network has locked in its proposed reshoots for the drama pilot, based on Justin Cronin's fantasy book trilogy, which begins as a character-driven government conspiracy thriller and morphs into a post-apocalyptic saga with vampires. Co-stars B.J. Britt, Genesis Rodriguez and Jennifer Ferrin have been released from the project as their roles (Peter Jaxon, Alicia Donadio and Sarah Fisher) are being dropped in favor of three new characters (all currently being cast), Tim Fanning, Nichole Sykes and Lila Kyle. Jason Ensler is set to helm the reshoots next month in Atlanta, taking over from pilot's original director Marcos Siega. Previous co-stars Brianne Howey, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Saniyya Sidney and Vincent Piazza presumably remain attached. (Deadline.com)
ROOKIE, THE (ABC) - Melissa O'Neil ("Dark Matter") has scored the female lead in the drama pilot, about the oldest rookie in the LAPD, John Nolan (played by Nathan Fillion). She'll play Lucy Benitez, "a rookie cop in the LAPD who struggles with a domineering training officer and might be developing a budding romance with Nolan." (Deadline.com)
SUSPICION (NBC, New!) - Jessica Goldberg ("The Path") has scored a pilot order from the Peacock for a new drama based on the book by Joseph Finder: "After Danny Goldman accepts a handshake loan from his new friend and millionaire neighbor, he gets a visit from the FBI and learns that the decision is one he will regret for the rest of his life. Coerced to work as an informant for the FBI to earn back his freedom, Danny is forced to infiltrate a world of violence and corruption while trying to protect his family." Universal TV is behind the hour with Keshet Studios' Rachel Kaplan, Peter Traugott, Avi Nir, Alon Shtruzman and Finder himself also serving as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
