A.P. BIOLOGY (NBC) - Nick Peine (Office Christmas Party) has joined the cast of the comedy pilot as Marcus, "a smart kid but not as into college and careers as the others. AMY'S BROTHER (FOX) - Michael Urie has booked the titular role on the comedy pilot, in which an unconventional family is formed when a successful type A man and his estranged sister (Annie Mumolo), plus her two children, find themselves not only back in each other's lives but also living under one roof. Urie's Matthew is "a gay, controlled, super-organized and reasonably successful Realtor who lives alone in an immaculate house and thinks several moves ahead at all times." Also cast in the project are Ursula Parker and Miguel Pinzon as Abby, "Amy's daughter and Zach's sister, a quiet pre-teen girl who has trouble connecting with people, except maybe her uncle"; and Josh, "Amy's brother Matthew's extremely devoted assistant at the real estate office." (Deadline.com)
BLACK LIGHTNING (The CW) - Christine Adams has booked the female lead on the drama pilot as Lynn, "Jefferson's (Cress Williams) ex-wife who exudes confidence and intelligence. Although she's got a mischievous side, she's not one to be trifled with when it comes to family." (Deadline.com)

Rumierk is set as Vanessa Suarez, "a hard working, no nonsense complex single mother and waitress who wants the best for her daughter Lilette (Auli'i Cravalho) even though at times her own behavior doesn't live up to the standards she wishes she had for herself." Tippett then will play Coach Doug Strickland, "the high school's football coach and Gwen's (Amy Forsyth) father"; with Sutherland as Simon Saunders, "the theatre's leading man"; and Richardson as Kaitlin Mazzuchelli, "Lou (Josh Radnor) and Gail's eldest daughter and a huge fan of theater and musicals." (Deadline.com)
EL JEFE (CBS) - The Eye has pushed production on the drama pilot - about the multi-generational members of a Mexican-American family with deep roots in San Diego intertwine personally and professionally due to their powerful careers in law enforcement - citing casting issues with the lead role. (Deadline.com)

HARLEM HELLFIGHTERS (History, New!) - Jeremy Passmore and Andre Fabrizio (San Andreas) are spearheading a six-hour series at the network based on the fact-based graphic novel by Max Brooks, about "the real-life U.S. Army's 369th infantry division, an African American unit fighting in Europe during World War I. Breaking down racial barriers, the unit spent more time in combat than any other American unit, never losing a foot of ground to the enemy, or a man to capture, and went on to win countless decorations." A+E Studios, Overbrook Entertainment and Immersive Pictures are all behind the project, with Passmore, Fabrizio and Brooks likewise executive producing alongside Will Smith, James Lassiter, Jada Pinkett Smith and Josh Bratman. (THR.com)
ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - Co-stars Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle and Colin O'Donoghue are reportedly in negotiations to extend their contracts for a potential seventh season. The status of fellow actors Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Emilie de Ravin and Jared Gilmore however has yet to be determined. (TVLine.com)
SCALPED (WGN America) - Gil Birmingham, Irene Bedard and Chaske Spence are the latest to board the comic book-turned-drama pilot. Birmingham is set as Chief Lincoln Red Crow, "the controversial Chief of the Prairie Rose Reservation." Bedard then will play Gina Bad Horse, "a legendary activist and the public face of opposition to Red Crow and his casino"; with Spencer as Sheriff Falls Down, "the local sheriff with a deep investment in the Rez and its people, his wry easy manner obscures an edge and keen intelligence." Additionally, Native American filmmaker Sterlin Harjo (Mekko) will serve as a producer. (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED SINGLE DAD PROJECT (ABC) - Lombardo Boyar has signed onto the Rob Riggle-led comedy pilot as Elias, "a friendly yet macho tenant who also serves as the building's handyman." (Deadline.com)
WHAT ABOUT BARB? (NBC) - Ben Lawson and Eddie Shin have been cast in the featured-turned-comedy pilot. Shin will play Nick, "Suzanne's (Leah Remini) half-brother, who's charming with an unwarranted sense of confidence that's not backed up by much achievement. He's educated but lacks follow-through and motivation." Lawson then is set as Ryan, "Suzanne's fiance, a former Ohio State linebacker who maintains manliness while basically doing the duties of a housewife. A super nice guy, Ryan is a bit of a mimbo - not the academic type Suzanne has dated in the past." (Deadline.com)
