SUPERIOR DONUTS (CBS/CTS; W: Bob Daily, Garrett Donovan & Neil Goldman; D: James Burrows) - Comedian Maz Jobrani is the latest to be cast in the multi-camera comedy pilot, which follows the relationship between Arthur (yet to be cast), the owner of a donut shop; Franco (Jermaine Fowler), his new young employee; and their patrons in a gentrifying neighborhood of Chicago. He'll play Maz, "who is a high-energy, over-caffeinated businessman, capitalism personified and living the American dream. Maz has been buying up buildings and investing in businesses in the Uptown neighborhood, waiting for gentrification to come and make him rich, and he's constantly after Arthur to sell him the donut shop so he can control the entire block." (Deadline.com)
