BROOKLYN ANIMAL CONTROL (USA/UCP; W: J.T. Petty; D: Brian Kirk) - Daniel Zovatto (It Follows) is the latest to be cast in the Stephen Graham-led drama pilot, based on the comic book of the same name which follows the inner workings of a secret subdivision of the NYPD that functions as social services for some of the city's most unique citizens - werewolves. He'll play Donovan Crean, "an unemployed drunk and car thief in debt to all the wrong people whose world turns upside down with the startling revelation that his father, Brooklyn Animal Control officer John Crean (Graham), manages werewolves for a living." MAX (HBO; W: Murray Miller; D: Lena Dunham) - Zoe Kazan has been tapped as the new lead on the comedy pilot, about "set in 1963 about the struggles of second-wave feminism, centered on an ambitious magazine writer, Maxine Woodruff (Kazan), looking for liberation." She'll take over for Lisa Joyce, who will instead focus on Issa Rae's "Insecure," which was recently ordered to series. Kazan also co-stars in George Pelecanos and David Simon's "The Deuce." Jenni Konner and Ilene Landress also executive produce alongside Miller and Miller. (Deadline.com)


STARTERS (FX, New!) - Writer Dan Kennedy and director Will Graham are set to team for a potential comedy at the cable channel "set in America's true underbelly of chemical addiction and appetizers: corporate theme restaurant chains." Ed Helms and Mike Falbo will also executive produce via their Pacific Electric Picture Co. banner. No studio was given. (Deadline.com)


WORK MARRIED (ABC, New!) - Michael Showalter and Christina Lee ("Wet Hot American Summer") have sold a multi-camera comedy to the Alphabet about "the lives of unconventional Vermont state senator Michael Sherman and his type-A overachieving chief of staff Christina Kim, which are turned upside down when they realize their work marriage is the only relationship they've got left." Principato-Young Entertainment's Peter Principato will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
