GRAVES (Epix/Lionsgate; W/D: Joshua Michael Stern) - Skylar Astin, Chris Lowell and Angélica María have all been cast in the upcoming comedy, about a former President of the United States. Twenty years after his presidency, former President Richard Graves (Nick Nolte) has the epiphany that his policies have damaged the country for decades and so, with his young assistant, he goes on a Don Quixote-like journey to right his administration's wrongs just as his wife (Susan Sarandon), the former First Lady, decides to follow her own political ambitions. Astin will play said assistant, Isaiah Miller, with Lowell as Jeremy Graves, "an underachiever who returns from the war in Afghanistan to face the real challenge of finding his life's direction amid the everyday chaos of living with his presidential parents and self-destructive sister"; and María as Ramona Alvarez, "the wry housekeeper who has worked for President Graves since before he was elected and, as a result, grown comically desensitized to the daily dramas unfolding in the Graves household." (Deadline.com)

UNTITLED DAN FOGELMAN PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Writer Dan Fogelman and directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (Crazy, Stupid, Love) are set to re-team for a new dramedy at the Peacock featuring "a unique ensemble of characters all born on the same day." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the project, which Fogelman wrote on spec. Said trio will executive produce the pilot alongside Jess Rosenthal and Charlie Gogolak with production set to begin by year's end. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Bryan Cranston and David Shore's drama pilot "Sneaky Pete" is reportedly on track for a series order while fellow newcomer "Casanova" is being targeted for additional scripts (Deadline.com); Pilou Asbæk has been cast as Euron Greyjoy, "captain of the Silence, a ship whose crew is comprised of mutes whose tongues have been removed by Euron," on "Game of Thrones" (THR.com); Octavia E. Butler's sci-fi tale "Dawn" is being developed as a TV series by Allen Bain's Bainframe banner (Deadline.com); Echo Kellum will recur on FXX's "You're the Worst" as "a member of the improv group Edgar (Desmin Borges) joins this season" (THR.com); and Michael Strahan and Constance Schwartz's SMAC Entertainment is developing a small screen take on the SXSW short film "Melville" (Variety.com).
